3D CAD file for trunk emblem

I am looking for a 3D printer CAD file for a 2005-09 GT trunk emblem. My goal has been to dechrome one and change the color to match my paint scheme. The chrome plastic is a nightmare to get off. I have ruined one trying a heat gun to get the chrome off. I thought if I can find a 3D printer file I will just have one printed rather than take a chance of ruining another.

If anyone has one or knows where I can get one I sure would appreciate it.

Are you talking about the "GT" emblem on the fake fuel fill?

I know you didn't ask, but I did this by sandblasting the stock chrome badges. I didn't completely remove the plastichrome coating but I did get it very rough.
The grille horse and fender GT badges were also painted and still look good 3 years and 10000 miles later.

Yes that is exactly what I want to do.

I tried getting the plastichrome off various ways I saw on YouTube. I eventually resorted to heating it hoping it would delaminate from the plastic under it. It did, but unfortunately it melted some of the plastic as well.

The sandblasting approach sounds good. I do not have one, but saw Harbor Freight has a hand held unit. Did you use something like that? If so what media? Sand, walnut, baking soda? Thanks for the response!

Yup, just used a cheap siphon gun sandblaster. I think I made one more pass after I took this picture. Getting into the nooks and crannies in the grille horse was a bit challenging. Once I was done with the blaster, I hit them with some adhesion promoter before priming/painting/clearing them like anything else.

If yours doesn't pan out, there's a guy on another board that sells them. There's OEM ones that are kind of pricey but he has I think rebuilt ones that are ~$80
