tried out the new 4.10s at the track tonite and they dont go so well with the stock tires. my 60's werent so bad but i just spun through first then went sideways when i hit 2nd. on the very first run everything was going good then i forgot to shift into 4th:thud: so after hitting the rev limiter in 3rd i just pushed in the clutch and coasted to a 13.55@100. i was so use to not using 4th with the 3.31s. it was so hot and humid that it was just pointless to keep running. lesson of this track visit is that i definately need drag radials now.

haha....I feel your pain. I went the the track recently with hte newly installed 4.10's over the 3.31's on street tires and 2.0 60' but 2nd gear spun pretty hard, quite fun on the street however when people not around that is.

Though I have only done it once, Try street tires, 4.10 gear, 504 Horsepower and 474 Torque on the drag strip, might as well just sat still and did a 1 minute burnout, the 1/8 track looked like I had did a rolling burnout down the whole thing. On the street its even worthless to even drive. Thats why I run Drag Radials all the time, on street on strip. 235's dont do nothing for me except make the asphalt scream.

I like chocolate...

Get 275's for the street (Goodyear F1's or some soft Dunlops are cool) and DR's for the track.

I've got 4.10s and my techco supercharger with stock 8.5" rims and tires. It's pretty worthless to try to race anything with this setup. I will be running drag radials and some widened rims before too long.

I also need to get some drag radials, but I have done okay with street tires and 4.10s. My best 60' time so far is 1.89 with this set-up.

one thing to remember is to "not" lower the pressure on street tires. Lowering the pressure on street tires allows the center portion of the tire to bow in toward the rim so you are only biting with the outside edges of the tire....I know from experience....lol
