Well I've had 26" stock tires ... 27.7" tires and 28" dr's with my 4:30's 5 spd.

80 mph is around 3k maybe 3100 for a 26 and 27 inch tire. You might lower rpms around 200 with a 28" tire. I thought I was around 2800-3000 with 28" tall tire.

60 mph is a little over 2k with a 26" tall tire.

Hope that helps. It's not TOO bad, but I wouldn't want to take more than an hr or two trips over 75mph. 70mph on 26" tire isn't bad at all for me and I have long tubes off road H pipe with stock mufflers. So the sound isn't bad until 80mph.

Thanks for the info, but why do you say dont cruise for more than an hour or 2 above 75?

The motor/ exhaust noise will drive you freaking crazy, doesn't hurt the motor if that is what you are asking.

I agree on noise but the motor part I disagree. RPM's kill motors. Longer you stay at a higher rpm than what the motor was built for the shorter time span your motor has with bearings and etc.

If you keep the rpms at 5k for an hr straight you are going to have some issues. I'm sure your temp gauge would prob climb and friction would come into play. Also vibration. Not saying driving 3k for over an hour would be killer, just not the best for the car if you want it to last for a LONG time. :thumb:

If that was true honda's and toyota's would not have any miles on them, I mean a celica runs 3.5k at 70. I have ran my 07 with 4.10's @2800-3k for 8 hr trips a couple time still runs smooth as silk and dont burn a drop of oil. Running the motor a 3k is not going to hurt it

Also I fight traction and wheel hop like a mother... note my car makes only a little over 300hp to the wheels. If you have issues with traction now you will have more with the gear.

My plans were for 8th mile racing on a 26inch tire so thats why I went 4.30.

I have LCA's and UCA, but I cant get traction with these Nitto's(non-DR) and 4.10's. I was hoping I'd get better traction when I put on DR's.

4.10 to 4.30...

Whatever your rpm is now at any given speed, multiply it by 1.04878.

e.g., if you are at 2500rpm now at 70mph, you will be at 2622rpm with the 4.30s. Not much change.
