410's with turbo 5spd and 28 inch tire

i'm turboed now,is the 410's to steep with a 28 inch slick stock 5spd,willi run out of gear at the track,anyone running a 29 tire? any info fellas? any 410 geard turbo cars out there that can chime in?

not sure yet,just got the car back from dyno,runs great,but with the track opeing in a couple weeks i want to make sure 410's werent to steep before i get there and not bouncing off the rev limiter lol maybe a taller tire may break it down enough,i love the pull it has with the 410's though hate to remove them

YOu will be fine. I ran 4.10s with a 28 tall tire at 3622 lbs at 604rwhp and still had enough gear (barely) with a 133-134 mph trap speed.

When the turbo guys chime in I am sure they will mention that turbos in general like a taller gear. Apparently it loads the engine differently and allows the turbo to spool faster.

Anyway since they are already in, I say go to the track at least once before you make any decisions.

Trap speed you will be fine for the gears, mph wise you will be slower with those gears anyway with the narrower power band and shifting.

Get a go pro and video your boost gauge on the run.

Note: My experence is only with 1/8 mile times for now.

Without anything changing but gears I slowed down about 3/10 of a second in the 1/8th going from 4:10s to 3:55s. That was with a 28x9.5 MT slick. I don't have any of my 4:10 slips around but with 3:55 I run the 1/8 in 7.61sec at 88.22 mph, thats with a 1.623 60ft. And thats through the stock 5 speed and clutch. I don't get upset about the loss in the 1/8 as I'm sure I would make up for it on the big end.
