Dude! Glad you are OK... WTF was that lady doing? She could turn to avoid you?

The insurance company should total the car. I know I wouldn't want it back. Pull all the custom stuff quick, put what ever stock stuff you have back in it. Let those guys come get it.

First off, glad you're ok, and sucks about the car.

Having said that.......

Pretty fair assumption that no one around here would EVER quote you out of context on these sentences.

Ouch... that's just wrong. :roflmao: Prepare for impact in 3...2....1... :moon:

fuck that, im sure we all feel for you..I would be friggin livid if it was my car..
I've never really gotten too atatched to my cars. I'll be pissed if money starts coming out of my pocket. I just want to walk away from the deal with no commitment left on the car.

Get your lawyer ready. Allstate is chock full of jackasses especially the estimators. First thing out of his mouth will be, "Oh that's not too bad. I've seen worse."

I'm sorry to see what happened to your car and really hope they total it. Anytime the doors are affected by a rear collision you can scrap the car. If you get them to total the car be sure you can get all your goodies off the car before they pick it up.
I think all state will move fairly quickly cause I have a rent a car on their dime.

The police report clearly states the facts. It says that the woman was driving distracted and speeding. My part, says I was at a stand still.

I've already gone to my doctor twice due to neck pain. I will have a lawyer at hand.

Thanks.

I just think she was distracted with the radio, cell, deep in thought etc. She's 45 and she didn't seem the type to be a reckless driver. Just unaware. Unfortunately our paths crossed.

Yeah I'm aiming for totalled cause I sure as hell don't want it back. As for the aftermarket parts, I'll take my sweet time. They can't pick up the car unless I release it. I won't release it unless I get what I want.

While the offers and counter offers go back and forth I'm still using a rent a car that they're paying for. So it's in their best interest to close this case a.s.a.p.

You've clearly never dealt with Allstate. Common sense and logic do not seem to fit into their corporate policies. The rental house we are in is costing them almost $7,000 per month total. You'd have thought that would have been incentive for them to settle our claim quickly on our home after the fire, so that we could start the rebuild sooner. But no... they took forever to pay out. So here we are 13 months after the fire, and we're just now getting ready to break ground. Assuming an 8-month build, they will have spent around $140,000 for us to have temporary housing, furniture, etc. And it's not like they saved any money with the delay tactics, they still had to pay us our policy limits. Bozos...

Maybe you'll get lucky... but it's not the norm for them.

I use to have Allstate, but after a few bad experiences, I switched insurance companies. Make sure you get every penny you deserve.

Their auto claims adjusters try ever trick in the book to reduce what they pay out. One of them tried to tell me the grey primer under my new black paint job on my Oldsmobile was bondo and because of the bondo and previous body work, they could only use junkyard slavaged parts to repair my car. Pointing out that the sheet metal on the opposite side of the panel was completely flat and smooth so that its can't be bondo and that its primer couldn't change his opinion. The two Allstate approved body shops I took it to said different. I was a poor college student at the time and didn't have the money for a good lawyer to fight it. So, I ended up taking the money they offered, which was 1/3 of what it actually costs to repair the car correctly, did the body work myself, and gave the olds to my mother to trade in on a new car for her so I could get her Fox body Mustang as my daily driver.

Damn that sucks, I just got my car back from the shop after a pretty bad wreck and I got really lucky that the car came back to me in near perfect shape. When the accident happened I instantly was hoping the car was totalled because I hate having a car that has been damaged to the extent mine was. I still wish it was totalled but I can't complain about the condition of the car now though.

Good luck with everything and I hope you don't get bent over by the insurance company.

Thanks. Was your car as bad as mine?

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

It's been claimed totalled and it'll be picked up some time next week. I feel like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Now I gotta move fast to get all the goodies out.

I start yanking out the parts tomorrow with a friend and hopefully don't run into too many problems. We're aiming to have it done by Sunday. I still haven't figured out how we're gonna get that Kenne Bell BAP in the trunk lol That's to say if it's not damaged!

I will keep the parts for my next project.
