advice

Anybody have any good advice on taking off stipes? I started doing some today on the spoiler just picking at it and peeling it off and then using some bug and tar remover to get the glue off with a microfiber towel.

I paid a vinyl specialty shop 100$ to do it because it didn't want to mess anything up. I'm pretty sure they just used a heat gun and some goo-gone.

I just used by finger nails and peeled it off. Most of the residue came off after I washed it and I just used meguiars quick deatiler to get the rest
off.

yeah thats what ive been doing and plan on doing, but its gonna take me alot longer than 25min to take it off the whole car

That certainly doesn't hurt. If you have the luxury of being able to park it outside for a couple of hours in the sun it will definitely help.

Use a hair dryer or a heat gun, makes it much easier.

It got hot enough for me to remove those annoying dealer stickers when I first bought the car.

So i just finished taking my stripes off the car, didnt take 25 min, i started doing it in sections so it wouldnt look retarded if i had to go somewhere, i started a little on sunday, and finished today, it took me about 15 hours to do the whole car.

BLASTER makes decal and sticker remoover spray....me and my friend took the ones off of his car....you heat it up with the hair dryer,and then spray a little bit on the edge and it comes of right away

well i did mine with a hair dryer and used some 3m adhesive remover to get the remaining glue off, I did it by myself, i could have used a hand to hold the hair dryer as i peeled it off, that was the hard part because when you heat it up then it gets cold the glue hardens back up and then the vinyl starts to rip and well its a pain in the ass.

I did my hood in January. Below freezing outside. I did it in my garage with a heat gun and goo be gone. Took some time because of the cold ambient temp but I got it done. You need 3 things: Heat, adhesive remover, patience. Thats it. Thats the magic formula.

yeah pretty much, i went through two hair dryers lol, one went out today getting half way through the passenger side on the hood.

honestly that was my first choice, but when I went, they really could not give me an estimate on it, because it just all depends on how easy there going to come off the car. I just got lucky enough to be off this whole week to work on it. If you have sometime you could save some money and DIY. What I did was just work on one part of it like the rear bumper and the trunk one day and just take that off then the next work on the roof of the car, so it wouldnt look weird if i had to go anywhere. Very doable but if you have the time.
