YES! Hood pins!

Yeah hood pins for sure, stealth hood pins are great. However my '10 has no hood flutter, the '07 had a lot. 140mph here on the bahn with no hood shake.

With stock suspension the hood catches lots of air. I had my hood pop to the safety latch at about 130mph once. When I run the H&R adjustables and lower the front by 1 1/2 inches it is much, much better unless in a headwind or crosswind. I have run it to 140+ with minimal hood flutter but as a safety measure I always tape the corners for the high speed runs. I am considering the under hood pins setup but I have not had a chance to do them. I am still trying to decide what aftermarket hood I want to install also. I have found that it also helps some to remove the weather strip section from the rear of the hood also to help let some air out the rear of the hood.

Pieper are you going to Snapkas next Friday? I can't decide whether to go to SA and do some test and tune to get the new hp dialed in or stay for Snapkas. I'm New Braunfels right now but should be bakc in time to make A&W tomorrow. Are you going there?

i dont even know what Snapkas is but my friend google says it is a car show...? what are you going to be doing in SA im going the 23 to an autox and then i will be in new braunfels tomorrow floating the river

are you talking about A&W root beer lol i havent been here in CC very long and dont know much about the car scene past autocross and the dumb-asses that always want to race me untill i want to throw down cash lol

Mine popped open and fortunately was caught by the latch. That was my last track event without pins.

The top picture is of the 2010 front shroud belly pan mounted on a 2006. The second picture is the 2006 pan laying on top of the 2010 parts. This friend of mine knows what he is talking about if he says it helped it did, he tried it.

Yeah, I noticed that piece at the GT Ford had at the Chicago Auto Show. Very nice to see the factory upping their game on the nose of the car.

I really like the idea of venting it. Seems if you are speeding up the air along the pan you should be helping to draw it through the radiator more effectively (assuming the air just aft of the radiator has slowed substantially - which of course, it should have). That's another feature of the pan ocpony made that I liked - only his is like one giant vent aft of the control arms.

If I remember correctly part of the original one was left to fill a slight gap between the new and the front valance. You can see a row of screws connecting the two parts together. You should be able to find the part numbers at the dealer, sorry I don't have them.

Another contributing factor to the hood flutter was the seal under the front edge of the hood it wasn't strong enough and let air spilling off the radiator to lift the hood up. But this shroud mod helped a lot.

I've also found removing the plastic's around the windshield wipers has helped with cooling as well as with the hood fluttering at high speeds. Ran around Sebring this past weekend with SVTOA, after a few runs to see how bad the hood really was, i removed the two plastic pieces, as their only held on with a couple plastic pins and not having to remove the wipers.. it was a simple fix. Gives the hood a good 1/2" or so cowl toward the glass... went back out there, very little shaking from the hood if any at all.
