No offense but that's 10 who don't own it and the 2 that do, say it's great. I don't give a shit how good your eyesight is, I can always inspect something better in person than in pictures. I'm not defending the kit, per se but I am defending the fact that a product has people bashing it and the bashers have no personal experience with the item being discussed. I always value everyone's opinion, sometimes even after I realize someone has no idea what they are talking about.

On this forum, you don't need to qualify a statement with "no offense".

The title of thread is, does anyone know anything about the kit, so obviously hes looking for people with experience. So really the guys that have it are the best resource, over other peoples opinions and "feelings" about it, sure being skeptic and warning on the major components being cheap is good advice, as i got all my own stuff myself. But he already knew that, and i quote:
The very fact he had to ask about it tells me something. I don't know how long it's been on the market, but less than a handful of people have actually installed it on their vehicles. It either tells me: a) it hasn't been out for long, and/or b) it's not a quality piece. Furthermore, being that it hasn't been out for a very long time, the reliability/longevity/quality of the kit has yet to be documented. It's like taking a shot in the dark, in my opinion. Yes, it's cheaper than all other kits...but WHY??? - and it's still not that cheap. You're still spending a few grand on a kit that hasn't been thoroughly vetted. If it's me, I'm forking out a few more grand for a kit that I know works and which many people have had success.

i use sct to tune my car and use the mafia. you dont have to use diablo to tune the car with the mafia. it does basically the same thing as the meter just rescales the meter. you just have to change some things in the tune to make it work.

Or charge me more on the diablo tune lol... the thing is he has written tunes for this setup (basically) with the ba5000, but has no saved tunes for the diablo. So, by me spending the extra $100 on the mafia, I save myself like $50 on what the overall cost would be for the tuning

I know there's nothing wrong with a MAFia, but Chris likes tuning with a ba5000. If that's what the tuner wants, then that's what I have to get

Sooo I guess its staying DRAW thru not blow thru?

Sorry dont know much about the BA5000 can it be used in a Blow Thru SET UP?

how is drive ability when in traffic and around town. i am about to go to the pro-m meter and i have the mafia. right now i have the mafia set to 3 on the stock meter. and i make 707whp

The Drive ability is beautiful , my car feels BONE stock around town, idle's perfect . Mine is set on 2 and I have the Lethal 3 pump return style fuel kit with 80# injectors. I activate the 3rd pump on a hobb switch at around 16 psi's , the rest of the time the two pumps are on all the time.

So what is the difference between a draw through and a blow through? Any specific advantages/disadvantages? I'm going to be daily driving it as most of you know. If it really makes sense to stick with the mafia, then I'll use what has worked for you guys

draw through is where the meter is before the turbo inlet on the non pressure side.
blow through is when the meter is on the pressure side after the turbo and bov. blow through is better i think because it is more accurate and it has a lot better characteristics for daily driving and just all around in my opinion.

A draw thru is a meter placed after the filter before the inlet of the Turbo . Its reading air thats being pulled into the turbo .

A Blow thru meters the air after the inlet of the Turbo before the TB . Typical placement after the intercooler before the TB .

A blow thru is more accurate and is better when making big power:

Here's a picture of my Hellion Kit when MAK 1st installed as a Draw Thru , look at the Meter placement.

ok that would be great. can he do different sizes. what power will this 3" support.

I believe a 3" supports up to 650 on its own , a 3.5" supports like 750.

The reasoning behind the 3" is the signal is smoother therefore a better drive ability tune . The Mafia allows to extend the MAF to support higher hp.

Thats why I went with the 3" . I still have plenty of room left on the meter to support 900 hp plus.

Willie Figueroa is one of my very good friends He tuned a Single Turbo Mustang that made just under 1000 hp with a 3" blow thru and a MAFia at 27#s of boost.

You really dont need to have a huge intake pipe , remember its all being forced in the intake anyway.

There are times that airspeed is too much if you keep using a thin pipe, with a section that long you could easily go 3.5". An HPX will go over 800 in that config by itself, with an added MAFia well over 1000.

Welding the housing closer to the TB would help too, does not have to be in the middle.

i am looking to make some serious power and was just wondering. i need something so i can achieve my next goals. and still keep the drive ability.

If you are looking for serious power I would do 3.5 if you can make a pipe as long as the one that Pete has. (oh good, what did I just wrote????)
