I heard it'll clean things out and make your car perform better.

I wanna hear what other say before I go ahead and do it?

Seafoam is EXCELLENT!!! I use it in my cars as well as my boat. It cleans like no other and actually has a lasting component that will help prevent buildup in the future. It also removes all the moisture in your fuel system.

I Seafoam my boat twice a year. Once at the beginning of summer and once before I put her up for the winter. I'll put it in the oil 20 miles before an oil change, the fuel and before winter, fog the boat engine with it. My motor still runs strong as hell.

If you use it properly, you should have no problem.

I just used it on my parent's 94 Toyota w/ 160k miles... It runs a lot smoother now; and it picks up (I can wheel spin on wet pavement now). =]

1/3 can in crank case
1/3 can through a vacuum line...
1/3 in the gas tank (if you're low on fuel)

Seafoam is bad ass shit. It's great for small engines too. When I buy gs for the yard equipment I always ad 1 ounce per gallon year round for the weed eater, chain saw, four wheeler, tractor, blower, generator, etc. Great in my boat and great on forklift engines to clean out propane systems. I pull the propane supply line off the tank and pour it right in the hose.

If you have a rather clean intake, you won't notice much (it was clean to start with), but if your vehicle is old and dirty (our used 454 Suburban) it will smoke like a you blew it up until all the oil is out of the intake.

Kinda scary for a while.

LOL … I put a can in the '99 Caddy fuel tank once and awhile. Then hit the highway and let the Caddy STS show her might … quite the smoke screen behind me and then all is good. I'm not sure how to do the intake method on the stang.
I use it also w/ the yard equipment, but only mix a gallon jug. The lawn mower shop told me not to use gas over a month old in the small 2 stroke stuff.

I'm a firm believer in using a little regularly to start off as a maintenance thing. Like, if you are going for a little trip, run some through that tank full, but I don't think I'd use it at the race track.

for old, carbureted engines with years of non detergent oil, maybe. But I wouldn't use it in a newer car. Modern oils have plenty of detergents. The smoke you see out the back is the seaform burning, not necessarily engine deposits being cleaned out. Some water run through your intake will do the same amount of cleaning I would think.

The thought of putting a solvent in my crankcase has always seemed like a bad idea to me.

Some swear by it though and I've never seen anyone say it did damage. So if ya got a few extra bucks to dispose of, try it, see if you like it.

Should I put the seafoam in the gas tank when the tank is full or near empty or somewhere in between?

Dump it in the tank at the gas station immediately before filling up. That will mix it real good.

BTW, Seafoam eliminated a pinging problem on my 05 GT.

Interesting, so what it did was remove deposits in the top side of the motor, thus bringing the comp ratio down and clearing your ping problems?

Someone asked me this today, doesn't Ford place knock sensors on these things?
