Maybe you guys can give me some advice.

I'm torn between spending some birthday money on more appearance mods (black deck-lid panel or black vinyl roof wrap), or on 4.10 FRPP gears, for my 2011 Mustang GT automatic trans. I've been thinking about the gears for a while - drove jsnyng's car with his 3.73s, and they are an absolute blast.

I do mostly city driving, some highway during the week, and occasionally long trips. Not that gas mileage is a huge concern, right now I'm hitting between 15-17 mpg overall (not accurately calculated, though), and am not looking to *seriously* decrease it much more. Mainly looking for street fun, but I do autocross (just put it in 2nd the whole time) occasionally.

What do you think? More appearance modifications, or 4.10s?

with a 2011 i would not get 4.10's. gearing is the last thing i would do on that car. get an intake/tune/off road x/appearance mods, then gears if you wish.

Gears 100%, I own a 2011 with 4.10s and can tell you its the best. although I would get a tune first to raise your rev limiter up to 7500-7800.

Where did you find the black vinyl roof wrap? Been looking to do this on my red candy

OP if you haven't gotten a tune yet you should do this first. You will be amazed at how just a tune will wake your car up. Getting the tune installed on my 5.0 was like a night and day difference performance wise. Then later on get the gear if you want a little more performance.

Forgot to throw in what I already have - as far as performance goes I have a tune (Bama), and for appearance have larger wheels (20").

Honestly, I'm not that interested in getting a CAI... mainly because my mods will be limited, so I'm only wanting to get what will *most* noticeable in daily driving to me, and least noticeable to the dealership. I figure the gears will be the most night/day difference. But correct me if I'm wrong.

I found some places that sell the vinyl online, but if I did it I sure wouldn't be installing it myself... knowing me, I would screw it up and have to re-order another set.

Quotes I have gotten from around here are close to $350 to wrap the roof... which is ridiculous. I'd only do it if I could get it done for $100-$150.

4.10s will make a world of a difference.

My buddy owns a tint/vinyl wrap shop, ill give him a call and see what he says is a standard price.

Let me know what he says. I don't really know what is 'standard', and maybe more goes into vinyl wrap than I'm aware of, but $300+ seems steep just for a roof.

Wow, I thought you guys could at least come to a consensus on this :highfive:.

Gears it is then... but I'll admit I'm having a *little* bit of hesitation with the 4.10s. Part of me says 'go balls-to-the-wall' and the other part says 'you've got a daily driver...'.
