What features did you program with the swi-rc
Music note=mute? Source? Band?
Skip buttons=(track+-) or (preset+-)

Volume is obvious lol

I did the music note as source change. So it will go from FM to iPod to Pandora, etc.

Skip buttons I did as seek up and down. I first programmed them as preset up and down. This worked for the radio presets but didn't work for the ipod controls. :(

i Just bought the appradio2 and have been doing research, pioneer has an update that allows bluetooth and a new cable for hdmi streaming with iphone5

firmware update 8.3

iPhone® 5 Compatible with CD-IH202 Cable Kit, Apple® Adapters, and Firmware Update (available now)

Im glad i came back to this thread. they have a new cable but from the amazon reviews you just need a hdmi cable and a lightning-to-hdmi connector. bluetooth will be nice. that makes another thing i have to do to the stang when i get home from Afghanistan. Awesome! thanks for the info.

Just installed my appradio 3. So far getting used to it. What I did not know and had incorrectly assumed is you DO need the MHL port or use a HDMI port and adapter if using android. I am going to spring for a MHL port and go that way. A regular cable (USB-micro) that you use to say charge the phone will not work.

Going to go ahead and get the back up cam while I have it all back apart lol..

Nice piece and yes the shaker 1000 sounds SO much better thru this thing. Only gripe is when it powers up I get a loud quick pop thru the speakers (all of them)

looking at your parts list I realized that the 5v regulator is for the amps. Is that also what the 2 position switch is for? Not sure why you need that or the two pigtail connectors....

Sent you a pm

Evidently the 5v regulator can be wired in or a resistor...

Btw.. If using droid you need the stupid pioneer kit to hook it up. The idiots at best buy will likely not know shit about his unit or android stuff. I am looking into a an liberator also

So we need to put in a 5v resistor to keep it from popping?...

you can get a 5v regulator at best buy. they also have ones with like 5 wires plus to pre outs that should work with the subs.

or

just wire in a 1000 ohm resistor to each amp. I am going to do that first as I think it will be easy enough and have a few of those laying around. Just be advised this is going off info I got from the install dude at best buy so dunno how sound that information is going to be. plus too busy atm to really look into it

Got trans back together and back in yesterday. Also had time to fiddle with the appradio.

If you have a droid you really need to look into ARU (AppRadio Unchained). Pioneer apps suck to say the least. Also do NOT buy the Pioneer MHL adapter kit if you have a Samsung galaxy smartphone. Won't work. Buy a genuine Samsung mhl 2.0. Cheaper and the only thing that will work.

Back to ARU..

If you have android and a smartphone that you can root you can use this free app. It allows complete control of your phone via the appradio touch screen. Badass.. your appradio is basically now your phone lol

Btw.. soldered in 2000ohm resistor and still have the pop when radio power on. Looks like the 5v regulator is the only solution.. if that works. When I get my diff gears swapped maybe I will try the regulator this week

Crown. I just traded my ip5 for a GS4. So I havent been able to use anything on my AR2. So I need to get the MHL adaptor snd what else? A hdmi chord? I didnt really want to spend anymore money on this radio. Including that ARLiberator ($35 app) . Let me know.

sent from a S4 Galaxy

For the GS4 phone (great imrovement from ip5) you will need a genuine Samsung Galaxy MHL 2.0 adapter. The Pioneer connectivity kit will not work on the gs3 or gs4 (I found that out after blowing $80 on the darn thing). The pioneer kit is a 5 pin connector whereas the gs3 and gs4 phones now use a 11 pin connector (far superior)

I only trust buying from manufacture as many have been counterfit and do not work worth crap if at all...

http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ET-H10FAUWESTA

I "think" ARU can be used on the appradio 2 but not certain. ARL (Appradio Liberator) is expensive but I do know this setup works on the ar2 (appradio 2). They are now working only on updates etc for the appradio 3 (ar3).

For your new Gs4 you need to root the phone even for ARL.. Positive you need to for ARU (appradio unchained)..

To do this there is potential risk as you will have full admistrative rights (just like your home pc you can actually damage stuff in the cpu if get off the beaten path). You will need to become a "developer" on your phone first, then check the build version of your phone (firmware). Once you figure that out you then go to Ondin 3 (Odin version 3.07 i think it is..). Anyway you will download (free) the flash for your build version and folllow the steps to ROOT your phone.

That, download (free) superuser and rootchecker.. viola. SWEET!!!

I rooted my gs3 and gs4. Many apps these days require it, and you have many added benefits of doing this including getting rid of bloatware etc..
