Question for the drag racing pros, but what is the proper technique to do a burnout at the track? I will be racing on drag radials and am a total noob at this. Im quite worried I'll end up in the wall during my burnout:chainsaw:

I drive through the waterbox then do my burnout. I was told 40 mph 4-5 seconds ease off the brake roll out of the throttle. Auto trans put it in second gear. Manual idk but you need 40 mph to generate enough heat. Don't worry about it too much, you will figure it out. Don't sit in the water box and burnout. Water will get tossed all up in your wheel wells and drop down on your tires when staging. You will get better at it the more you do it. No stress, have fun.

Certain tires like different amounts of a burnout. The mt 275 pro's that i run now like just enough of a burnout where i start seeing smoke....The normal et street radials when i had them liked more of a burnout.

It's just going to take some trial and error.

second gear in a manual, not first, rev to 6k and dump the clutch. 50-60 mph until you start seeing a good smoke develop. usually about 5-10 seconds.

Watch the first few seconds. Notice the tach. PG trans, so when I shift that is equal to 4th gear. LOL. I am a very angry person.

LIES! You just hit mach one. That is not tire smoke it is your car moving moister/air at a high rate of speed resulting in a sonic boom...

Quoting so we can look back at this when either a) he stuffs it, or b) twists a tube after listening to this so-called "advice"
