So I just installed my CDC grill at work today. Then on the way home from work this Pontiac G8 is riding my ass so I figure why not. Then the road opens and the pussy won't even try to pass me. That pissed me off more so I just took off. Midshift and I hear a snap. Now it won't go into gear and does nothing when I slot the shift into the gear slots. Sigh. And to top if off the G8 asshole had a good laugh. I just hope the transmission isn't toast. What a day.

We are going to put it on the lift. I'll keep you all up to date. The pic for those unable to see it is my car going for a ride on a flatbed. Best gas mileage I've gotten in a while though. Lol.

Well I snapped the input shaft. I'm going to need a new one and am thinking about going to an aluminum driveshaft while it's all apart. Anyone know a website where there are good ones for a good price? My car is lowered so that would effect which ones I can use wouldn't it?

I would recommend converting the input shaft to a hardened 26 spline one since it's going to need to be replaced. You would have to get a new clutch unless the company that makes yours can convert your existing one.

I've beat the piss out of mine at the track and it's holding up just fine.

I run one of these and have had Zero Problems.
I have 24,000 Miles on the Mustang now.
The 3.5" driveshaft is the one you want with a lowered car.

05-08 Mustang GT Dynotech Aluminum Driveshaft -DIRECT BOLT IN!

3.5" will fit auto and manual transmissions

The aluminum one piece driveshaft is a great way to improve driveshaft strength and

reduce rotating weight. This driveshaft is rated to 900 HP and currently being used on
1000 rwhp Mustangs. By eliminating rotating mass you are going to improve
horsepower, torque, and reduce drag racing elapsed times. Dynotech has 80 years of
balancing experience and currently builds driveshafts for IHRA, NHRA, Nascar, and
Busch racing series vehicles. You will find less expensive aluminum driveshafts
available but none come close to the experience used to manufacturer the Dynotech
driveshaft. This driveshaft is a direct bolt in design unlike some of the less expensive
shafts. Simply un-bolt your factory driveshaft and bolt in this driveshaft.

When i put in the MGW shifter on the Saleen, i drove it hard for about two hours and heard the same snap, broken shaft and toasted Syncrhos were the diangosis. If the car had not been under warranty i woulda put a TR6060 in place of the 3650...

Did the shaft snapping destroy the synchros? I hadn't even thought of that. Shit.

Put the pom-poms down and back away from the keyboard slowly. If Brenspeed offered rectal exams you'd be first in line for that shit too.
