If you have to bend or cut, do it. Had to hit my SR exhaust with a blow torch to get it hot enough to bend a little to fit onto my GT. Anything can fit if you work hard enough on it.
The point is, they shouldn't require bending/cutting in order to be made to fit properly, to begin with. They're supposed to be designed/made to fit properly during the manufacturing process at the factory.
I'm late to this party, but thought I'd add . . . With the SVE mufflers from LMR, the driver's side, front-most hanger/rod was wacky. I could only get it to fit in the OEM rubber hangers by unbolting the OEM hangers, sliding in the rod, then bolting back up. And even when done, it really stressed the rubber of the OEM hangers, as the mufflers wanted to pull it in a direction it didn't want to go. Recently replaced with Borla Tourings. They fit much nicer in the OEM hangers without stressing the rubber . . . except the front-most hanger/rod on the pax side is too short. If I move the mufflers forward enough to position the muffler tips where I like them, the rod comes out of the OEM rubber hanger. I ended up having to allow the muffler tips to stick out the back further than I wanted so that the mufflers hung secure. Point here, even a decade and a half later, the aftermarket still hasn't gotten it right with these damn things.
Pypes fit is total crap. Bought their shit once. Never again. Stainless that rusts, muffler hanger broke from muffler body in 3 years. Good thing I have a welder. Just sayin' if anyone is looking at Pypes.
Tailpipes from pypes are so bad... I called them they just shrugged lol I am pie cutting and /or adding in portion of bend, need 15 degrees down at rear.. or more
I lived through this with numerous different axle backs over the years. Top brand names and always off just a bit and normally some or a lot of drone. Last year I picked up the FR500S and these damn things lined up perfect and have zero drone. A lot to be said for OEM.
I was in the same boat as you with axle backs. Tried two or three different brands and always had alignment issues. Bought a set of FR500s and they fit perfect and lineup correctly with no changes.
