Ugh, I suck at driving! But this was my second time out with this car, and first time out since the 4.10's. I ran a best of [email protected] with a 1.8 60ft with MT ET Streets 26X11.5. :argh:

Mods are as follows
JLT
CMDP
4.10's
LCA's and UCA
FRPP springs
MM PHB
91 race tune from bamachips.

How do I decrease my ET's? I left the line at 6K on my best run.

with that 60' time i would have thought you would have turned in a 8.15 in the 1/8 or so. and the mph is down too. not sure what's going on there, to be honest.

Maybe its my shifting times? I'm trying to shift as fast as I can, but I'm also being careful not to miss gears.

Also, about how fast is an 8.48 equal in the 1/4? I want to be in the mid-high 12's all motor at least.

i don't think with an 8.48 you'll be in the 12's. i remember running 12.90's and turning in 8.19 or so in the 1/8.

since you mentioned shifting, that could be very well a big part of what's going on. i shift at 6400 rpm and keep the gas pedal to the mat and never lift. if you try the same i think you'll find your throttle will momentarily close anyway when shifting above about 6k and you'll only have to work the clutch and the shifter

btw i have a pro50 and i have never ever missed a shift

They are about 1800-2000 foot above actual sea level for starters, and if he is anything like my son who was there with him today runing his Mach I, he most likely isn't allowing enough time between runs for the car to cool and as he said he needs to work on his shifting.

For reference I ran my car at HRP Friday night on street tires had 2.03 60' 8.41 1/8 @ 85.05 & 13.003 @ 105.5 so I would say he should run low 13's as it is now.

I take it that you are Mr. Brown? haha

Yeah, our cool down times were about 15 minutes long. I'll try longer cool down times next time.

I have an MGW in the car, I guess next time I'll try the power shifting, and scoot the seat up a little more to ensure I get the clutch pressed in all the way.

I always allow at least an hour between runs, but however long you wait be consistent from one run to the next so the car will respond the same each time. I don't know what RPM you are shifting at but next time out try various shift points, and just because the car only make power to a certain RPM doesn't necessarily mean it will be fastest if shifted at that RPM, I always shift around 300 rpm past peak. Try different things to find out what works best
then stick to it. Glad you guys had fun and most importantly didn't break anything.

My best run in the 1/8th last season was a 8.04 @ 87 which netted a 12.61 @108.9 mph...but i had a tune issue that chris @ bbr soon showed me and a clogged fuel filter...my top end was falling on its face..

8.48 would equal around 13.1 to a 13.3 in the 1/4th..

you can't be scared to miss a shift...just shift that bitch like you know you can...with you not having cams i would suggest shifting at 5900 so by the time all is said and done your really shifting at 6K...also what psi are you running your ET's at?

aslo with being lowered i would really suggest LCA relocation brackets so you can get your geometry where it should be...I have BMR's relo's and it helped quite a bit..

The ET street's had 12 psi. I have LCA Relo brackets waiting to be installed.
