I left the Sam's parking lot and gave it a bit of gas to get into traffic. i hear what i think is an exhaust leak and then it went away within 100 yards. I notice my coolent temp climbing so i pulled into a parking lot to see if i broke a belt. try to pull the belt off and its loose but won't come off. i pull off the aftercooler, see the belt behind the pulley, and think WTF. then it hit me, the balancer rubber had come apart from the pulley.

i let it cool down thirty min, drove it the half mile home and pulled it. new one should be at the stealership in the morning. i wonder if it had been spinning long or did it all at once. The timing marks sure don't line up anymore....

i hope they get it in tomorrow, i have an autocross sunday. this happen to anyone else? the parts guy said he see's the V6's do this all the time but this was the 1st GT balancer he's had to order.

Fyi you can pick up a stock GT crank pulley for $20-30 off the forum. I have seen this on udp's but not a stocker for the gt yet.

Yup, have had mine listed for about 2 months on here, $25 plus the ride....make sure you get the right puller when you take the stock crank pulley off, you need the jaw style.

If you really want an under drive pulley to replace your OEM pulley, then the ATI 15% UD dampner pulley #918042 is the way to go.

High quality = very reliable. Worth the price!
