Ok so im really confused about how effective gears are. Ok so at first all i had was a JLT CAI and an SCT tuner with a BBR tune and nitto nt555r drag radials and i ran a best of 13.09 at 105 mph. My car is a 5 speed manual with 3.55 gears. This was pretty consistant i always was getting 13.0-13.1s at 105 mph with a 1.9 60'. So i added underdrive pullies , LCA , and anti-squat brackets, and ran the same time, 13.0 @ 106 mph with a 1.9 60'. This was very consistent. I attribute the 1 mph gain to the UDP's.Oh and i forgot to mention i was launching at 4k - 4.5K. So next i get 4.10 gears because i hear about how well these gears work on the track and what not, as well as a set of MT ET streets on the stock 17 in rims to get traction. So ive been heading to the track a couple times and not once was i able to break 12's. Same exact time! 13.0 , 13.0, 13.0 @106 mph. Only difference that i can see that the ET streets and 4.10 gears added was that my sixty foot dropped to 1.7-1.8. My mph and ET stayed the same. These runs i was launching at 5K - 5.5K. So what the hell is going on. Im pissed cause i just spent all that money on gears for nothing. I lost top end and didn't gain any acceleration as far as 1/4 times. What is happening? Im launching even harder at 5.5K and still can't get any better times than when i only had an intake and tune. I feel like i should have left my 3.55's in, I would atleast have more top end and better MPG.
