Sorry to bring this guy back from the dead but the search feature led me to it and I have a few questions.

Chevykiller, Nickoli, 05YellowGt and 05Stroker, can you add anything new to this thread ? Some of your combos have changed and maybe new things have been discovered. At 20+psi I was having breakup on the dyno starting at about 5000rpm. The solution to it all was to close the gap on the plugs to about .025 from about .030. This is on a Turbo car with right around 20psi +/- 2psi, 8.8:1 Compression with stock heads and cams and E85. As Eric stated, I dont think the problem is blowout due to cylinder pressure(Isnt Cylinder pressure its highest at peak torque?) I think the plugs dont have the energy to recharge and complete the fire above .025.

I have been running the car for almost a month and have no problems at .025 but Im I leaving anything on the table by not being able to open the gap more ?

Thanks

The theory goes that you should run the highest gap that your setup will support without blow out to make maximum power. I'm running right around the same gap that you are without any ill effects. As long as you aren't experiencing blow out then stick with that setup. What kind of power numbers are you seeing now that the blow out has been overcome?
