Well I have seen one fail before ( actual case broke not the gears ) on the top end of the track 6xx rwhp and at 7k heads were fine and surprisingly pretty much everything else turbo etc.

Really sorry to hear about this Joe. I know it sucks royally...:handjob:

I'm going to send you a PM with some info I think you will find useful when I get done typing this. Forget the billet gears - I have a better solution.

Make sure you have your heads inspected before bolting them back on. It is very possible they may have also been effected.

I have to tell ya - if it makes you feel any better - what I have learned over the past 3 weeks working with Rich Groh and Justin Burcham is more than I have known (or 'thought' I have known) over the past four years. More than half the stuff flying around the internet regarding what parts are needed to support bigger 3V power levels are a crock IMO.

I'll include some more info in the PM. Again, sorry for the mishap - I know how you feel brother...:beerchug2:

Any info you care to share?

NO he is above us now he will not release any information :handjob:

Mark had an oil pump made specifically for him. Most of the materials are placed on the Space Shuttle and launched into space. The martians take over from here and complete the process. The gears are forged from Lunar rocks in the lava pit of Mt Doom. From there they are coated with space dust from the rings of saturn and cryogenically frozen on the barren wasteland of Pluto. It then catches a ride on a comet back to earth and gets installed in his car. lol

Just goes to show you that anything can happen, even with all the best parts.

Dave's car is a perfect example of doing it right the first time. He has built a few cars, and knows not to cut corners.

I am curious as to what caused the oil pump to fail. "Cryo" sounds like a bullshit marketing term from MMR, honestly.

Basically Eric I was told by the techs themselves there the only thing they do is o-ring it , nothing more nothing less .

Dave, What brand of harmonic damper was on the motor?

thats a good question. Its Steeda UDP. They market it as being better at absorbing harmonics, but do you remember bacjk when Steeda had so many problems with harmonics on the 2V motors?
