I need to for a ride in one of these turbo cars that spool fast. All the ones Ive been in had tons of lag.

I never put it back together with the yellow spring. I didn't want the yellow spring anyway.

Cool
Just curious if it was the new spring that corrected the issue or just the fact that you took the gate apart and put it back together, that fixed it?
I know you said the diaphragm looked good and all,

I am really not sure. I think the spring was just too weak and when I way overboosted 25psi ish, it may have finished it off

When you overboosted, the spring didn't compress at all. The gate stayed shut so the spring didn't do anything. I believe that that was just to soft of a spring and even without a boost signal line going to the gate, the pressure in the up-pipe pushed it open.

That makes total sense. After thinking about what I said it makes ZERO sense. Man I wish you were closer lol

So now, my car will only build good boost with the boost controller hooked up. It will barely build boost off just the waste gate spring. With the boost controller hooked up and set at 62 (Aem tru-boost) it will build about 7.5 psi. Just off the waste gate it will only build 2 psi

If I have to take that bitch off I'm replacing it. Late time I tried to take it off I couldn't even get the bolts out of the side that threads into the flange.

So, got all the boost leaks fixed, holding pressure well now. But will still only build 2psi on the wastegate spring then it bleeds off. With the controller is the only way to get the boost up

Maybe the spring lost it's temper.

This is an oil-less comp correct? Didn't the other guys running these have a bit of a break in period

Yeah but I don't think that's the issue because I can still build boost with my controller. But I have to duty cycle it to like 65% for 9psi. It's just really strange. I'm going to drop it off at Heartland monday if I don't have it figured out by then.

The wastegate appears to be leaking internally. When we removed it and took it apart there was a lot of condensation in the lower port. The lower port also will not hold vacuum or pressure. The inner valve seal is leaking and hopefully that's the problem. I had a new waste gate over nighted and will be putting it on in the morning. Hopefully this mystery is solved.

Switched out the WG to a Turbosmart Ultra gate, only one I could get over night shipped so late in the day, no change. Only builds 2psi. So I have a pretty much new Tial sitting in the box lol. I then switched the WG reference from the compressor housing to the intake and it will now build 5psi around 4k, still seams it should build faster. I am running a 7psi spring.
