I don't know of anyone who has bent them or broken them as a result of not welding them, however the general consensus around here is no matte what, WELD THEM. Especially if you have aspirations of putting a lot of power down.

I put a set on a few weeks ago, they're not welded yet but probably will be in the spring.

FWIW, the drivers side went right on...... the pass side was a complete bitch and took some massaging of the bolt holes.

I saw someone pop a passangers side LCA RB that was not welded at the track. I would recommend a min of 6" of weld for each bracket, even for on the street. 12" would be better if you are gonna run DR's at the track.

I had the same problem with the passangers side with the BMR brackets. Die grinder and a good stone fixed it...

i've heard from a fabrication teacher that a 1" of weld, using a 1/4" wire is rated in holding 1 ton so i'll just tak it here and there just in case i want to take them of or adjust them or for misc reason

I had to elongate the holes on the stock bracket and on the rear for the upper bolt to go in. to reduce the amount of cutting, once it was close I used a flat bar to make up the rest of the distance.

Most people don't use .25" unless you have a TIG or plasma. I mostly see 18 and 16 gauge on arch welders.

Are there any issues if you make the hole a little too big? I have to resize my passenger side bracket hole.

Yup, the passenger side was a bitch for me as well! I had to get the hole drilled out a little bigger, but that was it. All was good though, and they are working perfectly fine!

as long as it's welded and you tq your bolts to 130 ft-lbs you should be fine. If you don't weld it will rock and make noise, then eventually break.

shit ive been running my set for almost a year and dont have them welded and never had a 1 problem out of them , i talked to che about this and they told me unless your cutting 1.5 and under 60' that they do not have to be welded , now given the fact once im back up and running i know i will be under the 1.5 mark , or right at it i will weld them in along with a few more things

eh, I had mine welded today for $40. Worth the piece of mind.

If BMR says I should weld them, the $40 is well worth it.
