Hello everyone. new to S197 (obviously). Picked up what is not my first mustang, but it my first of this platform. Figured I'd check out some forums to address questions I have already, as well as learn what I hadn't even thought of on these yet.
My car is a 2007 base model 4.0 with a 5 speed. Black on black with a grey interior.
My first impressions are:
I was not expecting much from the 4.0 and wasn't surprised, though it's still kind of fun with the 5 speed, especially just sprinting around town. It does make me think about passing this on to my son and shopping v8 models.
That interior though... wow... couldn't get much more basic/dated, could it? I get the retro thing when these came out... but beyond the gauges and dash pad, the rest looks like a hybrid between a 1979 Mustang Ghia and a base model F150. I know I shouldn't expect too much from a base model, but still... I'm surprised this thing got approved for production
I do like the body style of this year much better than the newer models though. It's my favorite rear end (well, in cars anyway)
Here's a couple pics. Of course, it has the hood rash that will have to be dealt with at some point.
