The only problem is getting Aerospace to do the brackets for dual calipers on an S197 application. They don't really want to do it. I'm going to stay on their ass about it though.

Or I'll just put a damn 9" in the car and order an off-the-shelf setup they have.

But you don't need a full 9", right? All you need is the 9" ends. Hell, put 9" ends and beefy axles on an 8.8 and it's every bit as strong and even better than a 9" IMO...:beerdrink:

Truth be told, I have always known a watercooled TT set-up would be balls best but nobody has ever made or offered a kit.

If the whipple hadn't taken a crap, I would not have changed. Just circumstances happened, and I figured it was just meant to be...:beerdrink:

I've decided for now to hold off on the manual rack and aerospace brakes. I can always add them later, and I'm really trying to allow this thing to remain a 'street' car - so I am keeping the factory power steering/brakes/rack for now and see what happens.

Fastlane in Houston has had a watercooled race kit for the 3 valve for quite sometime now. There are several cars running that setup but there street cars and they are not making the power your looking to make. You car is going to be a BEAST.

Just an update -

Livernois should be shipping the heads ready to bolt on next week and JPC thinks the intake manifold will be shipping out by Friday as well so if all goes well, the fabbing can begin the following week.

I'm planning on ordering a 9" from currie, but that will be done next week so everything will be ready for assembly after next week (I'm hoping)

Well everything is shipping out by Friday and just an update on what was finalized as I changed my mind a dozen times...lol

With everything shipping by Friday, I should have some build in progress pics here shortly. The final set-up ended up being...

My 8.8 housing with 9" ends, billet yoke, and 35 spline gun drilled axles, spool and 3.25 gear. I'm doing some slight modification to the CHE axle brace and using that as well.

Mike's transmissions built TH400 with Continental converter

Pinto Rack

Livernois custom Stage 3 type R racing heads w/lockouts with custom Livernois designed Comp Stage IV turbo cams.

Rear brakes - aerospace dual caliper
Front brakes - strange

JPC custom reverse mount intake with GT500 TB

Greg and Augie will start fabbing as soon as this shit hits the shop...:leghump:

:LMAO:

It is a manual steering rack designed for the Ford Pinto...

(very light) I'm thinking the strange brakes and pinto rack will shave almost 150 lbs right there...:thumb:

It will also give me the extra room I want for the turbo piping for the way I want to run it.

I gathered it was off a Pinto, but I didn't know it could be used for a Mustang. I'm a Big Mustang fan, but learn something new every day off this forum.

Yep - all it takes is some mounting tabs on the k-member and some minor tweaking to the column and works like a charm...:thumb:

Actually, they have been working on these heads for quite some time. They plan on offering different type R packages (i.e. blower, N/A, or turbo app) in the near future for custom applications. They are not cheap but they are bad ass for sure.

Hell, if anyone is curious what good flowing heads can run, go look up what a set of merlin heads cost...:eek:hsnap:
