I am thinking about putting a Circle D converter in my car (2006 4.6 with 6R80). I want to stay as close to a consistent 7.5 seconds in the eighth mile as I can. I currently have a stock converter and the car runs in the 7.6 seconds (cool, low humidity night) to 7.8 seconds (normal night) range in the eighth mile. 60' around 1.8 (foot brake). How much of an et improvement can I expect? Who has before and after time slips for their Circle D converter?
Thank you.

My car bone stock was going 9.3-9.4. With a 5C It went down to a 8.6-8.7, then with the addition to headers it was going 8.3's very consistently. Since you have a TVS PD blower, you won't need as loose of a stall, and more than likely won't see as big of an improvement. I'd guess you'll easily make 1.6 60' times and be knocking off a solid 3 tenths with something like a 2, or 3c if you have the traction. Good luck man!!

Thank you. That is just the sort of information for which I am looking. I spoke to Circle D awhile back and, as you wrote, they mentioned that I would not benefit from a very high stall because of the TVS. They were thinking around 3000-3500. Of course, during that call, I forgot to ask about an et improvement.

FWIW - Circle D and VMP Performance have spec'd a 258mm 3C for my 2014 GT w/ TVS setup with roughly 550 at the contact patch.

Even though those VMP's make gobs of torque, I'm bettin you'll still see some nice gains "if your car can hold the traction" hahaha. I'm thinking the OP may be a little lower on power compared to you, but it's hard to say, so he might still get away with a 245, instead of a 258mm unit, if he's buying new just get what the company suggests.

I'm looking forward to the stall change. Since I went to a 275/60/15 MT Radial Pro the car was bogging a bit off the line at 16psi in the tire. Increased the pressure to 18 and was then cutting a little better 60ft in the 1.6x range. So hopefully that wheel combo will work well with what I have. I just hope to see a 10.7x(current best is 10.8x at three different tracks) in average air and keep the car in the solid 10's regardless of air conditions in my area. I know that's a pipe dream, but many great minds started their success on a dream.

Chris @ Circle D can answer any question you might possibly have about what stall to run.

Go to the 2005-2010 tech forum, the controller came out this past winter and several guys have setups up and running. I have not seen that any of them have hit the track yet though.

Cool; thanks for the links!

So with that and the Coyote control pack from FRPP, you could put a Coyote with a 6R80 into, say, a '71 Mustang? :D
