Recently the seals on my turbo collapsed. Turbo is being rebuilt right now, however my intercooler and piping has a fine coat of oil inside it. I asssume running a hose through it would cause corrosion in the intercooler, and Im not sure it would get all the oil out. I have seen some threads on other forums that suggest pouring a couple qrts of acetone in the intercooler, capping it off and shaking it, draining and repeating til it comes out clean, but Im not sure if this is the safest or most effective method. Please chime in

Thanks

Find a good diesel repair shop near you. They do that kind of stuff all the time. If they look at you funny when you ask, go to the next shop!

Soapy water works also. I use Dawn, works pretty damn good like.

Think I will try Dawn first. Seems a lot safer than messing with a gallon of acetone. Thanks! If that doesnt work I guess its off to a diesel shop- Any idea what they use and what they charge (roughly?)

Don't be stingy with the Dawn.

Why do you have a problem using acetone? The stuff works wonders.
