So while half my electrical system in with Ronnie (Mustang30212) getting red LEDs, I'd decided to do some major cleaning on the stang. 4 months in LA which included my interior flooding :damnit: has taken its toll. Basically my carpet looks like complete shit. I'm highly considering taking it out or at least removing the front seats to clean it. Has anyone done this? I've searched the forums and can't seem to find anything on this. Any suggestions?

Bissel little green machine and a Meguiars APC+ is what I like to use.

Usually cut it 64:1 if using warm water.

If you pull the carpet out take it to a manual car wash and use the pressure sprayer to wash it... I do this with my floor mats in then winter to get all the dirt, sand, salt, etc. out of them. Works real well but just make sure you let it dry completely or it will smell musty.

If your carpet is completely shot I say just replace it if its not too expensive to do so. Think about the time, labor and product you will have to use to get it looking snazzy again.

so this little green machine guy is actually legit? I was checking some reviews out on amazon and they seem up and down. Which model do you guys have? Did y'all see they also have one tailored for autos now?

Yes! I've had mine for a while. I use it for everything, inside the home and in the cars. Back when I bought mine they didn't have the Auto but I don't know if I would of bought it anyways. The LGM Pro Heat, the one I have, has a powered brush where the Auto one does not. Essentially they are the same machine with different attachments.

nice so you have the pro heat. I've either gonna with this one or the base one. From reading reviews it looks as though they've changed the design of the base one so I was curious as to which model everyone had

i x2 this! I did it to one of my trucks before I sold it...The carpet looked ruined! I took the truck mud riding and everything so it was pretty rough. Stripped the interior down and took the carpet to a carwash. The water literally was dripping black. I done a nice foam bath, scrubbed it in, soak, and pressure washed it off until the water was clear. Hang dry in the sun for a day or 2 (1 day is fine if your in the south lol)

Looked brand new when I got done and actually smelled new again

As much as I'd like to do this. I'm thinking it will be a huge PITA. Looks like a Pro Heat is in my future.

I have had mine for about a year. It was a wedding gift.

I use it in my wifes Edge and my Mustang. I will see if I can get a pic of it tonight.

Always assume when reading reviews about anything, that human stupidity can play a role into it, and the operator may not follow directions.

Very true. I just picked one up at best buy, same price as amazon. I'll break it out tonight and see what this thing can do.

If you go onto detailing forums, like autopia.org, autogeekonline.net, or detailingbliss.org

You'll see the LGM is a favorite amongst hobbyist detailers.
