Okay guys I need your help. I know I've posted about this once before. My cluster has went up and I need a new one. I've read where people have upgraded to my color. I talked to my dealer about upgrading from the 4 gauge to the 6 gauge cluster with my color. He said they can order the parts and try it but they can't guarantee anything. Have you any of you guys done this or know someone that has? I really want to do this but I can't afford to buy this cluster and it not work and then have to buy a second one. I want to know for sure that it will work before I do it. Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

What year is your car? Mine is a 05 and it had the wiring, I just had to buy the buttons and the cluster. I got the Cluster from Tusley Ford with the correct mileage already programed in. I then took the car to a local Ford dealer to have it programed to my car as I got a GT500 cluster. The GT500 cluster has the light for the TPMS and 05's did not have TPMS so I wanted that dummy light programed off.

I have an 05 as well and it has the wiring. I was planning on buying the parts and the cluster from them and having them install it and program it.

Plug and play....your new cluster will have different miles, so try to find one with the same amount of miles you have now.

I have a mycolor gauge cluster that says 28130.2 for the mileage. I don't have any more buttons though, had to use them with the GT500 cluster.

I just did this on my 05 v6.

Like other guys have said, check to make sure the wiring harness is there behind the blank switch. If it's there call Steve at Tousley Ford. He'll need your vin# and mileage you want on it. As far as I know, getting a new cluster is the only way to get the correct mileage unless you get lucky and find somebody who has one where you need it at.

When you get the new cluster it's a plug and play swap. After you get the new one in, you'll have to have your dealer flash the cluster with your build data. Make sure you tell them to flash ONLY the cluster. My dealer ended up also flashing the pcm back to the stock tune and changed the strategy code. I had to limp the car home and get new tunes from Bama to match the correct code. All is well now.

The cluster is $410.32 plus a $300 core.
The buttons are $48.93.

The main thing is to stand over the guys shoulder at the dealership to make sure he only flashes the cluster and not the pcm. Steve @ Tousley has done a lot of these swaps and is very knowledgable, he could probably explain the process more clearly over the phone.
