Quick question, what material is the outer door skin and wings on an S197 made from? I have a reaction on the two doors started one year after respray and looks really bad this year. I also see signs of it starting on the wings also. Bootlid as well. Ohh and my p2020 code is back again
As far as I know, the bonnet (hood) is aluminium and all the other panels are steel. One way to find out is to use a magnet and see which panels it sticks to.

I put a catch can on my 91, only because its supercharged. It collects very little, to the point of, "do I really need it?" lol
I also had a bone stock 5.0 pushrod that had so much blowby I had to disconnect the PCV. No catch can was going to help there. So Ive seen both extremes first hand. Dont have one on the coyote. It dont use but a 1/4 quart between changed=not needed.

So the problem is something to do with the undercoat used then or reaction between the paint and undercoat. I do know the painter took the car back to the bare metal in most places. I was thinking it was something caused by undercoat or primer reacting with the Aluminium.
