hmm, the wording sounds like that may be from the CMCV's between the intake and the heads, maybe the motor is stuck and wont close?

check the linkages for them behind the manifold if you can, ive never looked to see if theres enough room to look or not

...or it is no longer connected...or plugged into the wrong connector.
Did you delete the plates? If you haven't, you should as part of your build!

The tune thinks they are there. If it's a factory tune, that'd be normal codes with the plates deleted. With an aftermarket tune, it probably still have the plates signals enabled, and they are not there.

The factory plates are still on the car, are there 2 wires for each bank that I could have put in wrong when swapping motors?

The banks are not controlled independently. There is a connector that plugs into the IMRC unit on back underside of the intake. According the electrical manual there are 4 wires in that connector, Voltage, ground, signal and monitor. Monitor is what would be giving the feedback to the PCM of the position of the blades.

Check that connector and the wires back to the PCM. Have you had the motor out or the intake off? If so maybe the connector is loose or the wires got pinched.

No it shouldn't, you should see some lag going WOT and maybe some part throttle cruise hesitation from the IMRC's being open all the time if they are. Check and make sure you didn't pinch the wires between the block and the trans. If I recall correctly the wires run around the back side of the passenger cylinder head.

Did the codes come up as soon as you started driving the car after the short block change out?

Did u mess with the motor ? Make sure the clips are installed and rods are on. Also make sure there is no obstruction blocking it's movement.

Never touched it, and doesn't look like the wires could be pinched.and its plugged in. Will I have to pull the intake off to check the clips or is that something you can do with it on?

You sure than the proper connections were done? knock sensors and cmcv's share the same type of connector, just for the sake of being sure, check they are correct, KS have 4 wires, CMCV only 3, check that 4 male is with 4 female and the same with the CMCV 3 wire ones.

Connections were right, anyway this could also pertain to my ticking noise under hood? Ever since the short block swap. I've got a ticking sound that seems to be in the intake? Also had one in the housing area but I fixed that with a new separator plate..
