Alright so heres the deal, I have a 09 gt mustang, bought it bone stock put a little into the motor and when and got it tuned by a local shop "MAC performance". Put it the dyno and it made 313rwhp. Not horrible but considering the stuff I felt it was low. The tuner (great guy btw nothing against him) had only done one other mustang before mine so I was nervous going into it. Had my car most of the day finally got it rolling. Got it home and it kept dying on me so brought back and he fixed that. Then randomly every couple months I will get on it from a stop or in the middle of the highway and the car will die on me, everything shuts down. Put it in neutral, cycle the key, and it fires right back up (while rolling dead doing 70 on the highway that was fun). No check engine codes, diagnostic stuff etc... Few years down the road now and i'm thinking more and more that he wasn't the best choice. Here's the relevant mods list:
- bbk CAI
- FRPP hot rod cams
- Mac LT's
- Mac o/r mid
- pypes axel back
- 4.10's

So 313 rwhp, that seems decent considering altitude here in Colorado and the 4.10's but i really don't have enough experience with these things. Thinking about going to another tuner who has a little more mustang knowledge and letting them give it a shot. So main questions is 313 a decent number considering and does anyone know of a good tuner in colorado who is comfortable with mustangs. Bama can tunes scare me considering the cams and harvey (boost creep) is apparently scared of stangs, mostly a tuner guy again i think.

P.S im not super confident that the shutting down randomly issue is in the tune but something doesn't seem right, I would assume fuel delivery or ignition issue on something like that but not sure if it is controlled by the tune.

The FRPP cams dont add a huge amount of power so yes, that actually does sound about ballpark right for HP for your setup.

I had a 06 GT with all full boltons, comp muther thumpr cams ( very similar to the hot rods ) and made 321 rwhp on an 87 octane dyno tune by Brenspeed. Some cars will always read higher then others too and dyno numbers will vary a bit from dyno to dyno, altitude, heat soak, ect ect

Cant hurt to try another tune from another place though, esp with those cams as they can be lil more tricky to tune then standard bolton stuff, mostly cause the overlap is so huge on the hot rods ( which is what gives it that awesome sound though :)

Aside from the shutting down issue, how does it drive and idle?

I used RMCR in CSprings but they outsourced their Ford tune to someone locally because they are mostly a GM/Chevy shop. I would NOT recommend them. Here is Lito's site

I used rob Williams he is in Arvada he tuned mine with nitrous. A lot of people in Colorado will tell you he is awesome with mustangs.
