Has anyone noticed a problem getting consistent E.T.'s from run to run while using the DiabloSport performance tunes? I'm stumped. While I'm no tuner I figured they wouldn't be that bad. When I won the Baytown FFW race the car was dead stock...no tunes, no mods, nothing. It was very repeatable and easy to race. All I had to do was work on the tree. For the past two races I have fought this thing all over the place. I cannot get the car to run anywhere near the same from one run to another. I've tried bringing the car to the line with the temps cold and with the temps warm/hot.
In Virginia, I made a hit on Sunday morning to see where I was in relation to my index. The car ran a 14.02 @ 99.11 mph. Not good for a 14.12 index so I added 45 pounds to the trunk which has shown to be equal to a tenth of a second. Didn't get to make another hit before the first round but I wasn't too worried. First round, I tree the other guy and start hitting the brakes after the 1000' clocks. I managed to shrug off 16.8 mph and still broke out with a 14.112 on a 14.12 index. Doing the math it shows the damn thing was going to run a 13.95!!??!!??!!??!!?? WTF?
Even the reaction times are varying from run to run. That is something I usually control very well.....ask DynoJoe. I'm about to return the car to the stock tune and do some testing at HRP today (if the weather gods permit) to see if the stock tune is still repeatable.
Any ideas? I'm sure Doug at Bamachips can set me up with a good repeatable tune but I also have no modifications to the car whatsoever. None. I am to the point of leaving the car dead stock until after the season is over and then working with Doug.
