custom tune loading issue

I have an X2 9400 and I've loaded the drivers first and then LiveLoad and when I plug in the X2 I get "ERROR-No XC2 devices found".

Running Win 7 64bit. Help...

Just worked on my wife's Win 7 32bit. I thought SCT updated their software to work on 64bit systems...

I just had this problem with my old XCAL2 on my 64-but laptop. I installed the drivers & software, but I kept getting error messages including the same one you received. I was 2 days away from my cam install and couldn't wait for a slow response from SCT so I ordered an XCAL3 from BBR. I received another tune separately from BBR and everything loaded fine on my laptop with the XCAL3.

I tried updating the firmware on my XCAL3 and it deleted all the tunes off of it, so I had to call SCT and they went in through my computer and fixed everything. But, they said that I would have to send in my XCAL2 to be updated by them because the software on the XCAL2 was outdated and they for some reason don't offer the update online. Once I finally got through to SCT they were very friendly and helpful. But just a heads up that you may have to send your programmer in to be updated...

Thanks for the update. Cheaper to keep a laptop with 32bit OS and update that way. Only time I use the X2 is to upload a tune and that's it. Guess if I ever get into data logging then it may be worth it, but I believe there are better tools for that than the X3.

I totally agree. I was on a tight timetable and it was easier to purchase the XCAL3, even though that was the absolute least financially smart decision to make. But, I rarely get time off of work and made my cam installation appointment months in advance so I would've had to wait until October of this year to get them installed again.

OK, well I guess that would make it difficult to send your XCAL in to get updated. I do think it has something to do with newer computers/64-bit processors because everything worked fine on my old Vaio desktop from 2004 as far as loading new tunes and whatnot. But, the first time I tried on my 64-bit laptop, it simply would not work no matter what I tried. I did hear back in 2009 that SCT was supposed to release new software so that the XCAL2 would work with 64-bit computers, but it looks like that never really happened.

SCT replied to my inquiry within a couple of hours and said they could remote into my computer and get it to work. Works on my wife's computer so I'll probably just stick with that.

Ok I know this sounds dumb, but... I have the SCTx3. We went thru ALL the procedure's to download it to my tuner. HOW do I know it was a worked?? I want to install my cmdp's, but I want to make sure the tune is actually in the tuner before I start. how can I tell ??? and once again sorry if its a dumb question but I have admit, I'm really not great when it comes to doing alot of things with a computer other than what I'm doing right now... typing ! thank for ANY help .

Plug your tuner into your computer and load up Live Load. Then select "load custom tune" and if your new tune is in one of the 3 selectable options, then it's on your tuner and ready for your car!

Did you give the tune a name when you loaded it onto your XCAL? Or did you purchase the tuner and it was supposed to come with a tune?

sorry that I do not remember, its been a "while" since we loaded it and because of work etc, etc.. never installed cmdp's or did anything with the tuner, now I'll have some time and would like to do this thanks for all your helps reps to you!!!

Oh and I got the tune when I ordered the cmdp. which I got from AM. already had the tuner .

If you loaded the tune into your tuner using your computer, then you can go plug in your XCAL into your car, select the option to upload the tune, and if you see it as a selectable option you have successfully loaded the tune onto your XCAL!
