Has anyone done a custom under axle exhaust?

I've got a family friend who owns a muffler shop, and thought this would be a good idea...

I was thinking of this...

ARH LT's 1.75" primaries , O/R H pipe (Current)
to
3" piping
to
(2) resonators
to
3" under axle piping
to
(2) rear mufflers with double walled tips

Anyone have anything similar?

BTW, my car is an '08 Bullitt with the Saleen 475 kit... and ARH LT's listed above... looking to up the boost one day when I can do the new fuel system.

Cheers!

under the axle...wouldnt it interfere with the rear end if you were to extend the axle too far? or scrape the ground? i know it works with IRS cars but i dont think with live-axle equipped cars

I've seen atleast one example, which had no issues:

under axle + speed bumps = fail

Why... simpler, cleaner, more efficient.

I've always thought it was stupid to make that big arc over the axle.

Speedbumps- should not be an issue as the lowest point of clearance is still at the pumpkin, which would be lifted and on top of the speedbump as the tires go up and over... WHERE ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE WITH SPEEDBUMPS?! It wouldn't be much lower there than an IRS Cobra exhaust...

BTW, I always thought that the reason the IRS cars had it below and not above is that there simply is not enough room to have it above... and it works fine below for them, and if anything, they have more extension travel than we do with the SRA.

Your car is going to scrape no way around it. My mid mufflers right infront of my axle already do.

do it. you're right, it won't scrape because your wheels go up with the speed bump, therefore speedbumps don't reduce clearance. I hate when people talk about the Hellion turbo kits and how there's no clearance on the front because it goes under the a-arm. Some deal as this, they go up with the speedbumps. Mine have NEVER rubbed anything. Anyways, if you try it, post some pics. I'm thinking of doing a complete custom exaust also, and i'll either do this or dumps

i just pulled my x-pipe off of my mid pipes thanks to a speed bump. im sitting on sportlines and there is no way i could get away with a set-up like that.

I had an under axel, works OK, benefit is taking that big arc out over the axel, IMO there are probably only a few who would actually get anything from the benefit though. also even though the pumpkin is still the lowest point I was hitting things due to awkward angles of going over things but the main reason I took it out was because it really shows from the rear, at least mine did and it was tucked up pretty tight, it just looked like my whole exhaust was falling out of the car.
