I didnt take the store credit because there is nothing I want for my car at this point. I have spent about 5 grand in the last month on things and I am done for awhile. I dont need to get oil from them or anything of that nature. Where I work I get everything at cost Amsoil Royal Purple anything K&N Spark Plugs anything of that nature. If I paid them with mustang parts I would take mustang parts back. I gave cash and I want cash back. I told them I would still consider them in the future just wanted a refund at this time. They said no and basically said they dont want my business is what it seems like to me.

I have a bbr tune.. I am not taking sides just posting my experience. I have an email tune from bbr. When I got the car it supposedly had a dyno tune. The car put down 335hp and 330tq. It ran like shit, and was horrible to drive. My first tune from bbr worked so much better than the supposed dyno tune the car had(Strickly Performance). But my car was throwing codes left and right. After about 6 updated tunes from Chris the car seems to be the best it has ever. I have NEVER seen 31MPG until I installed this tune. It also seems to be the quickest it has ever been. I have only ever talked to Chris and updates came fast. I know 5 or 6 updates seems a lot but I only drive 4 miles a day. And now it seems to be dialed in. I'm going to put it on the dyno to see what it puts down.

31 MPG!!!!!!

Wow I guess I've been lucky. The BBR tune for my car has been spot on. Via Aeroforce my AFR always looks good. I get on average in the city 17.5 mpg. Here are my plugs after several thousand miles and they look great. And I like to run this car hard occassionally. The only issue I had with my first tune was that it was throwing the wrench light on because of something in the torque table setting. With Chris, that was quickly corrected. This was my good experience with BBR.

Now the bad. For some reason BBR doesn't know what an "emissions tune" is. They don't sniff the pipes here. Just an OBD II test. I got with Steve and Liz at least 3 times. Each time they sent me a tune that would not let my emissions monitors run or tunes with the emissions monitors not even showing "available". I eventually gave up on them and was out 30 bucks. Brenspeed however sent me a tune for emissions and I passed with flying colors. I have a handheld Actron 9125 so I was monitoring everything. Brenspeed got it right the first time.

Ok....so Brenspeed is a true hero now? No. Before I ever turned to BBR for an F/I tune I tried Brenspeed first. I always had good luck with them in the past so I gave them first dibs and what a disappointment. Brenspeed couldn't tune my Roush setup for shit. Car bogged and stumbled. Sluggish. About 3 revisions and they couldn't get it right so I went to BBR. Now my car runs great and has been for thousands of miles. Spark plugs don't lie.

Sorry about your story OP. I'm not a BBR fanboi. Just telling my experience.

sucks to see BBR seemingly dropping the ball again. I had a few tunes from them. my 93 tune was great, car ran terrific. My 87 tune had a slight issue and John took care of it very quickly after that no problems. Hope to see BBR step up their game so I dont read another 10 page thread about bad service.

I only drove the car for about 30 miles in total. It went down from there after I got in it a bit. But while cruising I have never seen it sit at 31mpg let alone ever seeing that number come up on my gauge.

Keep in mind that you shouldn't go by that reading, you can make that say whatever you want once you tune it. I would verify it the old fashioned way. Depending on how someone sets up the tune, it can be off by a lot.

Thanks for the heads up! I know not to trust that gauge it's always wrong but either way I have never seen that number ever. My car would tell me I had 10 miles to empty yet I still had 3 gallons left when I filled it back up. I will update this once I get a good reading. But my daily commute is only 4 miles.

I must say after reading this board for a while I feel fortunate to have a great tuner living near by. His name is Tony Gunyon and his company is Tuners Inc in OP Florida. The dude is one of the best and flies all over the world to tune cars, in fact he is in San Diego this week. Since all engines are diffrent and with all the diffrent bolt ons...ETC I can't imagine using tune sent via mail. maybe Im just lucky

Tony is the man when it comes to tuning, he's done my v6 and my GT now, highly recommended!

so bbr has nothing to say about this? how about they just man up and admit they couldn't give him what he wanted and just issue a refund already. if they have people from all over getting tunes a couple hundred bucks is nothing to keep a customer happy.

The problem is, the owner simply doesn't care.
