Personally I'd boost what you already have. But then I enjoy not having a car payment.

ULTRA....REALLY?!?!?!?! All that whipple talk and dreaming and now your going to just trade your (paid off) baby? Take that 10k and make your car exactly what you want. In reality what is the power difference going to be between a built/forged 05-09 car and a built/forged 11+ car?.?.?. nothing. A blown/built 3v is going to make as much power as a blown coyote. Plus you'll loose the look that you love. You are one of the guys inspiring me to be patient with my car. KEEP YOUR CAR AND BUILD IT MAN.
Put it this way... Did someone trade eleanor when she was stock for a more powerful car? NO, they turned her into what they wanted, A SEXY BEAST OF A CAR! That could be your [insert sexy girl name here].

Just my .02¢

It makes no f@!#$% to go into debt on a new car when you already have a new car . Fist of all new car higher car insurance , 5.0 motor could blow at any time with a power adder just like yours , once the 2014 come out the 5.0 will drop in price like ours did . Look it paid off if you can pull the motor and install the blower and do at least 80% of the work your self it seems like a no brainer , keep it build it and store it and wait for the 5.0 price massacare and by then use should be old enough for a vett . hahahahah

I went through this same debate for several months but it was difficult to justify when mine is perfectly fine in everyway except for the power aspect plus like your's I have title in hand. Needless to say I have a blower waiting to go on and bought a nitrous kit the other day to play with in the mean time...hopefully the only "quirk" with my car will be solved.

If you must do it...PW FTW.

Brian, you bought a blower? Fantastic! I want details! :snoopy

What to dooooooooooooooooooooo?!?!? :angry1:

I do love my car, but the potential of the 5.0 on a stock block is cRaZy......... :screw:

>730hp on stock bottom end is nuts!!!!!! I could be out of mine, strip it down, sell the parts and into a new 5.blow for ~$6-7k difference!:dunce:

But how would I tell mine she's gotta go?

I feel like mine is so old..

Forge the motor, same potential, you will still end up spending less too.
Why are you putting some kind of limit on a forged motor? lol

BTW, I'm not ignoring anybody's post. All are very good and make this decision EXTREMELY difficult, so I do appreciate everybodys input.

The problem with forging my motor is I live in redneck country

and these jacklegs couldn't rebuild a lawnmower engine much less a built block to handle real power! I'd end up with a bucket of twisted parts and an empty wallet while Billy Bob is wineing and dining on my dime!!!!!!!!

. I do all the work on my car myself. I could change a motor out, but I doubt I could build up a shortblock correctly.

So order a built block from Brenspeed (B302) or a short block like the aluminator. Honestly, if rotating assembly is already in the block, I think you can install heads and the rest of the junk. If you can cams, you can do heads. Don't be a bitch.

I think your car looks amazing man. I say that you just need to order a ford aluminator(about 3500 delivered) and then through a whipple on it since that seems to be the blower you have always wanted. Then you don't have to worry about Billy Bob's engine shop!
