if it works so good why get rid of it.
Do you think I will be ok with my afco and the larger tank in the trunk? I just ordered a 12x12x9 tank with 30gpm pump mounted in the tank. Looks like getting res out of engine compartment would help lower temps too.
I actually took my tank out just because I was fed up dealing with ice. I'm not going to sell it since I think it will help when I can afford a good heat exchanger, but without that the fluid gets heat soaked in the tank and it ends up doing more harm than good if I don't use ice.
If you don't mind putting ice in it then it works awesome, but with just fluid it was just adding extra weight to my car.
I can't complain at all about my chiseled tank. I made the wrong choice with the size going in the wheel well which limited the size rule pump that could go in it. My cruising IAT's were not bad at most getting to the 120's..it was just at the track where I want to keep the temps below 130 so it doesn't pull any timing and the only way I could do that is with ice. I want to see if i can manage that with a killer heat exchanger set-up and a fairly small water tank possibly mounted in the passenger compartment or something.
I'm thinking of possibly 2 small race radiators with fittings....possibly one pre-heat exchanger and one post before the fluid goes back to the reservoir. No time or money to do that now so I'm just relying on the meth injection which is working pretty good. I just need to get a progressive controller for the pump and figure out the best meth/water mix.
James, there are three tanks like yours in cars down here that I have tuned and all run whipples, two had problems with the Rule pump, one of them, the internal hose that goes from the pump to the external connection broke.
The thing is that here, the ice do not last more than one pass, you send the car out with 1.5-2 bags of ice and it comes back with warm water.
I kid with the guys as when are they going to finally buy the ice truck for the track events. The thing is that we get 80s on 100F weather with ice and tank->IC->HE config, and the car loves that.
Am I wrong or the whipple's (fluidyne) HE looks to be better than the E-brock?
Rub it in why don't you. LOL you worked hard enough for it. I am glad you figured it out. But jokes aside I should be ok shouldn't I? Hell that has to help me some when I get my tank in won't it?
lol yes i did fought them for 3 years.
Id imagine you are. rule 2000 is a 55gpm pump if i recall correctly, not 30
