So what do you consider fast for a DD car? Just wondering what different guys consider fast. This is just a personal opinion thread. ( if your car ran a 12 sec 1/4 at the track would you consider it a fast DD? etc)

Any vehicle that gets into the 11s is fast. A quick car gets into the 12s. All my opinion.

I have owned a bunch of vehicles over my life time so I do have an opinion.

The Mustang I drive right now is a Fast car.

And everything on it still works and performs like the day I picked it up from my Ford Dealer.

The below pic. is me racing it last year at the NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, KY.

And it was ran as I drove it daily and also as I drove it daily to and from the Drag Strip.

On real street tires not any sort of Drag Radial.

My signature shows how fast it was with M/T Drag Radials on it at the same Drag Strip.
(The difference was it had FRPP 4.10 gears the year before)

I'd say 300rwhp+ is the beginning of fun but 500rwhp+ is what I consider actually fast.

Well I dyno'ed at 501rwhp and Ihope to get into the 11's. I think the car has the ability to hit low 11's. Not sure if I do..lol

Any ET in the 11's is a Fast car for sure.

Especially if it can do that with normal street tires under it.

It is not easy to get into the 11's I can tell you that.

I go on what some of the cars (I have actually seen more than once in person) I see. Like a vette or a gt500. Those are probably the fastest production cars most people see frequently so if a car is as fast or faster than those. It is fast.

With the technology available these days, 10's is a fast daily driver that still gets to keep the A/C and all the comforts, stock weight even. There are people in the high 9's still pulling down 20+ mpg as well.

Doesn't matter what other people's idea of fast is though if your car satisfies that for you. Unfortunately it is easy to get bored with a certain power level and end up wanting more.

Like Tiger I have also had many modified cars in my lifetime. I would consider a fast street car as anything that can run in the low 11's to low 10's. As far as RWHP goes I don't really think anything over about 600 rwhp is really any fun to drive on the street. I keep my DD tune at 600rwhp and with my summer time DR's, it's fun to drive but it's at the limit for traction. With my winter BFG's the first 3 gears are nothing but tire smoke if I really get on it.

This just started because I was talking to a friend from High school the other day. (class of 1983). We were talking about are cars than and what we thought were "Fast" cars. I had a 1980 Z28 and he had a 72 Chevelle. We put alot into the cars but the 80 Z28 was a dog stock and the Chevelle was 5000lbs lol. Our cars were considered fast in our little town at the time. Looking back my 2010 GT is faster stock lol.
We had one guy that had a sweet 72 Mustang Mach 1 that had a built big block in it. I bet that car was a 12sec car and was considered very fast .

Like I always say the most fun I've ever had with my car was at 500 horsepower . 500 horsepower is a fast street car.

I think anything that runs in the 10's or quicker that you can or do daily drive is a fast street car. My supercharged 2013 is quick and fun and its my daily driver (snow, rain, anything). I used to drive the car in my sig on the street all the time and 1000+ hp on pumpgas just goes up in tiresmoke at just about any sane speed.

Yeah times change everything In the late 90s when I was i school if you had a foxbody mustang it was fast. Now 500 horsepower is slow. Things are only going to get faster
