500 rwhp on stock internals? Is that accurate I always understood you are pushing the stock rods a 450.

I'm with Marc on this. Fastlane is one of the best shops in Houston. check them out: http://www.fastlaneincorporated.com
Yes, nice meeting you too Mike, and thanks for the pics.

Cypress, huh....where about?? Im at 290/Huffmeister.....

Marc, pony up the dough & get er done...........
Yeah, let's what my bonus is like...Nick's also proposing I do the NA thing, if the $$ isn't available for the TT, in this manner: Air-Raid CAI (I really like how it actually has a seal and truyly segregates the filter from the engine bay), Koos catted LT's, CMDP's, and (DRUMROLL) a cam that he's working on....he says since my car's strong out of the box, we'd be looking at ~355 rwhp at 6400 rpm.

you made more rwhp then I did and I have a JLT. WTF haha
Yes, weird. Turns out we couldn't turn up the wick on the timing either...my stock timing map is at 29º (he detalogged), whereas he said "normally" the S197 GT's stock map comes with 24º, so all he did was use my stock map (not an SCT base-map, he actually used my stock map), leaned out the mix a little, and accounted for the 4.10's, while leaving everything on (O2's etc). I love it: runs strong. While peak numbers were similar to what my car did with the Bama 93 Race tune, the area under the curve (which is more important in my opinion), was about 10rwhp/10 ftlbs more.

Now the decision is NA 355 RWHP for ~$3500, or TT 430 RWHP for $8000. The former involves lower low end torque, and the later keeps the RPM points at which the max TQ and HP are made. Like I said, I gotta wait to see what the bonus is like.

I'm saying 430 rwhp, because that's what I want...I want to keep it in the "safe" range, so to speak. Later, if I get the motor built, I can turn up the wick on the electronic boost controller to get the >500 rwhp (his "shop car" with a built motor with the TT's is doing 600 rwhp, I believe).

Just talked to Nick. The intercooler and Turbo's are in for my install... hopefully it will be some time next week!!!!
Lucky bastard! I want a ride in it.....

No problem, I guess you are back in town now? When did Nick datalog your car?
I took it in at noon on Thursday, and got a rental Envoy from Enterprise down the street: the deal Fastlane has for his customers with them is $32 flat for 24 hrs, then I just dropped the rental off at Fastlane itself. One of the hotties was picking up her "CHI" Mustang, so I hung around a little more! I'm out of the country starting Thursday till the following Friday...when's your car gonna be ready?

not sure, he's still getting parts for it, but I think it will probably be done pretty soon. I can't believe how fast they built all of those chi mustangs... pretty cool!

Hey guys, I just happened upon this thread and noticed that you are all right around my area of town (290/Barker Cypress). Glad to hear some feedback on Fastlane. I'm trying to find someone to install 4.10s in my car soon so I'll definitely stop by and see if they do that sort of work. Where have you guys that have gears had the work done? I usually do all of the install work myself, but this seems like a job that should be left to the professionals.

Thanks,

Mark

When I'm in town I'm on Cypresswood near Champions Forest. Nick did my tune, too. I'll be in Colorado until at least June but I'd love to have a get-together once I get back.

Are you going to change out the 4.10's to something more suited for a turbo or what?

Pardon my ignorance, I just really want to know the answer to this question. I've heard a lot that higher gears(numerically lower) are better for turbos than lower gears like 4.10's?
