How do I post full sized pics from photobucket? I'm loading more pics from last night and I'd like to post full sized pics
Jason ...

It also greatly helps to use (Multiple) browsers.

You load all the pictures in photobucket.

Then open up the New Thread or Post here on S197.

Go back to photobucket and go to the 1st picture you want to post.

Click on that picture and it will then go to Full-Size.

To the "Right" of that picture will be a list of "Options".

One of those "Options" says (IMG).

Left click on that (IMG) and go back to your Post where you want that picture to be.

Right Click and you see the word (PASTE).

Click on the word (PASTE)

And there you will see all the codes for that 1-picture.

But as soon as you LOAD all the pictures you want then at the bottom of that and below the icons you see, {Submit Reply) & {Preview Post}.

Click on {Preview Post} and you will see all the pictures and also you can make any necessary changes "Before" you Click on the {Submit Reply}.

Here is 1-Picture doing exactly what I said above.

My questions for all of you out there are really simple. Where would you hook up to the motor if you wanted to lift it out without pulling the blower? How do you separate the fuel line from the fuel rails? Any suggestions on pulling apart the ac lines? Thanks guys

The fuel line takes one of those c shaped pac man disconnect tools. I've always just unbolted the ac and ps pumps rather than disconnect them when pulling a motor. I've also always taken the intake manifold or blower off and used the alternator and top two rear holes for the bellhousing. There may be Motorcraft bolt on parts for pulling the motor. I think I've seen them listed in the manual. I don't have a link to the manual on this computer though.

You need the tool to separate the fuel line at the left fuel rail. It looks just like the tool for disconnecting the inline fuel filter but a slightly larger size. Same type of line tool for the AC if you wish to draw down the system and disconnect it rather than trying to unbolt the compressor in the car.

As far as the PS pump, those 3 bolts are a PITA to unbolt in the car. All three have studs sticking out the top so you need a 10mm deep socket. Except the frame rail is in the way and you can't get a 10mm deep socket on the top two bolts. You can't get a ratchet wrench on them either because there isn't enough clearance around the bolt heads. All you can do is work them off 1/6 turn at a time with a thin wall box end wrench. IMO it's easier to simply unhook the lines and pull it with the motor.

Mine are 13mm. I didn't think it was that bad but I deal with limited access fasteners all the time.

Here's the manual if you want to look up the part numbers of those motor lifting things.

Yeah, 13mm. The nut holding the tab on the power steering pressure line is 10mm.

I took the intake off mine, was plenty easy to get it out of the way and give me access to good mounting points for the lifting chain. It also allows you to hook the motor low enough that you can get it out without removing the hood. You're better off removing the intake first IMO.

Ok. Thanks guy. I fought with it tonight for a bit. Got the fuel line off, dropped the ac pump and fought unit I won with the power steering pump. Didn't get a whole lot done but made a little headway. Any progress is better than none right? I guess tomorrow I'll yank the blower and transmission then hopefully pull the motor out. Is there something I'm not seeing on the lower rad mounts? Is there like a nut or Allen bolt or something holding to the rubber mounts on the support? I'll post some pics tomorrow after I've got some more done on the car.

I did not touch the radiator or radiator support when pulling the engine. But to answer your question, no. The radiator is just sandwiched in the mounts.

For lifting the motor I used 2 M8 x 40 cap screws in the top alternator holes in the front and 2 M10-1.5 x 40 cap screws in the upper bell housing holes in the rear.

the a/c condenser is bolted to the front of the radiator, so you have to remove those bolts from the front of the radiator and seperate the radiator and condenser before the radiator will come out, there is also 2 caps at the top of the condenser that have to come off as well that are attached to the top of the radiator....its very tight getting those off.

I lifted my motor with headers, intake, and blower all assembled with straps:

So what kind of motor is this???
What is the plan with the car? Is it going to be a dedicated race car?

I'll post up pics tonight but last I was able to pull all of the bell housing bolts, the starter bolts and the two that tie into the the tin dust shield. Got the shifter completely out of the car and dropped two of the crossmember bolts. Would have pulled the trans out but I forgot to grab the trans jack and I was not feeling energetic enough to wrestle it out last night. I then moved back up top and was able to get the radiator out and made way more room for pulling the motor. Finally I also cracked the main ac bulkhead on the fire wall before calling it a night.

If you dump the freon, be sure to seal up the open lines again to prevent contamination of the system and ruining your dryer. If you just leave it open you'll end up spending a lot more money getting it working properly again.

So as I said yesterday I got a few things done and would get back at it today. So I finished dropping the transmission today, the pulled the motor out then finished dropping the heater core out of the car. Finally finished up by pulling the carpet then decided to call it a night. Still got a lot done.

Got back at it again today. Got a decent amount done. Pulled a bunch of the rear suspension parts off, removed all the ac lines, pulled the mater cylinder and removed all the pedal assemblies. Got about 65% of the wiring out and labelled. Spent some time bagging and labelling all the hardware from stuff so I won't forget where it came from come reassembly time.
Now I need some help from you guys. There are two little blocks along the inside of outer frame rails in the car right beside where the seats would be. What do the do?? There is also a large block wired in the trunk the mounts at the back of the spare tire well. Once again. What's it for? And why is the a horn looking piece in the passenger side corner of the trunk?
