We pulled our tranny today so we can start working with one of our vendors on aftermarket clutch options. Here's a few pics of what we found. We should have some great clutch options available for these cars real soon. I also believe we'll see a TSB about the clutch pedal box assembly which is supposedly the cause of the clutch pedal sticking to the floor during high rpm shifts.

In the meantime enjoy the pics and feel free to comment or ask questions if you have any.

A billet spacers is used to shim the slave cylinder.

Check out this crazy shifter. I'm sure the aftermarket companies are going to have a blast trying to figure this one out.

Sure would be nice to see made in the USA on these parts. Shows how we have become a global market.

It's not like the skip shift in the Chevys. Ita very easily over riden with very little effort. The first time I drove my car I forgot it even had it. It wasn't until I had a few hundred miles on it when I actually noticed it.

Wow! Really Ford?!? I guess that answers my question about the shifter orientation. That is even more screwed up than my 05 shifter. I guess no 5.0 in my future... MGW is going to have it's hands full trying to come up with a shifter for the 5.0's. I would love to see Georges face when he pulls that shifter out!!!!

Whats that?

Supposed to help with fuel mileage. When you are in 1st getting ready to change gear, if you are in lower RPM, a solenoid blocks 2nd gear and moves you right over to 4th. I only encountered it once, and you have to be shifting at like 2k or something. I usually shift at like 2500-3k, so the solenoid is usually always open for me when I want to use 2nd.

You are going to base a vehicle purchase on shifter design? That's ridiculous. Although I'm not a huge fan, remote mount shifters like this have been used quite successfully for a while now (think front wheel drive).

Maybe there's a little more background to your statement that I/we don't know about, but taken as is, it seems quite outlandish!
