So i went to the track last night for the first time ever. My very first run i got a 1/4 mile time of 14.1 at 100 mph and a reaction time of .067. Oh and my 60' time was 2.1 . Are these numbers any good? My mustang is bone stock. Only thing i had was drag radials,i kno it doesnt need them but reason is that when i bought my wheels the drag radials were cheaper and only ones available in 305 width. i love wide tires. my second run was 14.3 at 98 mph. My question is, are these typical numbers for a bone stock mustang, or should i be running better, like 13's or sumthing?? Reason for the question was because someone told me that i should be in the high 13's if im trapping at 100 mph.

well if the tires are 305/45 they're really really tall for a stock mustang, that does affect the 1/4 mile times.

What were the track conditions, weather, elevation? 14 @ 100 is not bad. But with dr's, a 2.1 60ft, and 100 mph trap speed. Seems like high 13's are more in order.
I have nitto 555r 305/40/18 dr's and love them, although driving on the street everything sticks to them and i got a flat in one now i got to shell out $270 for another and there was a ton of tread left. Didnt get to test them at the track yet either.

I think this should be in the drag section...

what rpm where you launching at?? that seems like a high sixty foot time with drag radials. What gears do you have in the rear?? 3:55s or 3:31?

What is the elevation of the track you run at?

Do you have a 5speed manual or 5speed auto?

What rear gears do you have?

well im not sure of the elevation of the track but i went to Maryland International Raceway (MIR) , but im guessing its around 300 ft because its close to where i live. I have 3:55 gears with a 5-speed manual. I would launch at around 3k RPMs and the track was very well prepped, amazing grip. My problem was when i launched my car, it bogged both runs on the launch. Im guessing i need more RPM??

Man those times are pretty close to what my car ran last month. I ran a [email protected] with a 2.029 60ft da' was about 3200+. Mods on the car where bfg drag radials, shifter, and flowmaster axle back. Track prep was insane too and in all my runs i would bog pretty bad even launching on the rev limiter.

There's your problem, you launched at only 3K with DR which caused the car to bog. Next time launch at 5 to 6K and see if that helps.

Yup. Track prep was pretty damn good because they had a couple of 6 sec. cars running before me. I just got a intake and tune so i set the rev limiter at 6500k hopping it will help me next season. Pretty sure i will have some 4.30's in by then though

MIR is 87' above sea level. the DA for that night was
Density Altitude: 826 feet
Relative Density: 97.61 %

66.2 Deg
29.92 in
88% Humidity

So your time 14.0 @ 100 Corrected for DA is

Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
13.892 @ 100.766 MPH
