First time SCT tune

Got a new SCT Tuner (3015). How do i start tuning. It states I need to update the tuner. Do I go to the website and download all the updates or what? Sorry for the newbie question just would rather be safe than sorry.

Did you buy it from a tuning company? Or SCT?

Soundsike u need to update the firmware, DL it from SCT'S site, then update.

Go to SCT web site. It will give you directions on how to update the tuner. Follow them and you shouldn't have any issues.

Attempted to update firmware and across an error. Now its stuck in firmware mode.

Hook it back up to the computer and continue the udate. Even if it needs to start over again.

The tuner is stuck in firmware mode. it doesnt recognize the device and i unistalled and reinstalled the device updater and the firmware still comes up with a error code. Filesystem error needs to be reinstalled.

I had this problem with my sct tuner while trying to update it. You need to contact SCT and they will help you out, it's kind of a pain in the ass but its rather quick.

Sct has great customer service and they do it for you. All you do is call them, plug in your sct, then go to a remote website they use. Click on whichever tech you're dealing with and he will be in control of your computer from there. They will do it all its kinda cool to watch.

Thats what happened and the car is awesome. Now I'm looking to get the JLT series 3 intake. Could i just put it on and use the user adjustment options to make it run right. I know not to expect the power of a custom tune but will it hurt the motor.

My SCT had 4-5 different intakes to choose from and I had a JLT and it was on the list on my SCT so it will probably be on yours too. A custom tune is best but the SCT will make it safe and drive able. My car wouldn't even run with the JLT and no SCT tuner. Good luck
