Friend & His Brother Survive, Mustang Doesn't

Long story short, one of my best friends and his brother were sitting at a traffic light when a guy in a suburban plowed right into the back of his Mustang.

Here's the kicker ... the guy driving the suburban was WAY over the drinking limit ... and doing about 70mph in a 40mph zone. He hit them hard enough to shove them into the car in front of them by about 10 feet.

His girlfriend was supposed to be with them, but at the last minute, changed her mind and decided to stay at the house ... just basically told him to go hang out with his brother. If she had of gone, either her or his brother would have been in the back seat. I think it's safe to say there's no way someone would of survived in the back seat. It's hard enough figuring out how either one of them survived period.

My friend had to get stitches in his head and is going through physical therapy for his back, but he lived. No broken bones - just bruising.

wow, that is nasty. glad they're okay. of course, the last time i got rear-ended, i wound up with a herniated disc in my neck 6 weeks later to the day. they may have some injuries that don't show up right away...

hey man have them both get MRIs of there backs if they havent already done so. i was in the same type of accident 4 years ago. i didnt get a mri for a year and a half when i did we found out i had ruptured my L5s1 disc and had to have major back surgery . glad they are ok sue the shit out of that guy

Now, tell them to get an attorney!!!! The insurance co. will try to settle but don't do it! There may be medical problems in the future. Recently, one of our clients recieved over 500k for being hit and almost killed. However, she would have got more if she wasnt all over facebook for a year posting pictures of her partying, racing horses, etc...

At least they are reasonably ok and the car did what it was supposed to, that was one hell of a violent hit! I hope your friend and his brother heal quickly and get back to 100% soon

I am glad everyone was ok...I too had a similar situation where a teacher ran a stop sign at 60 and almost killed me in the process. Funny part is, the mustang was "done" earlier that week just having been painted, new trans, and blown forged engine and I only got to use it a week.
