My reply is really just me thinking out loud. BruceH and the others are definitely advice you can trust. About the "friend", I was just being sarcastic. I really hope things go well and you never have any issues from this.

Good luck and enjoy the Hotrods. Also, it was awfully kind of crownaviation to send another cam cap to help with the situation. Props to him!
Ah, I gotcha. :p Thanks man, me too. I am going to be on the lookout for any aluminum in my oil, as weather man suggested. If I see any of that then I'll pull it and get it fixed.

And it was man. I'm going to pay it forward the first chance I get!
Props to Bruce, that's why I love this place. Op glad its up and running.

Agreed man. And me too, this weekend was not a good weekend for things to break.

We don't close threads when things get resolved. They are left for others to find and use as needed.

Gotcha, makes sense. I just wasn't sure.

That's really reassuring. It should hold up fine but knowing that yours is doing well will have me breathing a lot easier.

Did you ever have an issue after welding the cap? Just had mine welded and put back on the engine
