I suppose I could flush rivet the spoiler. I was planning on attaching the spoiler to the splitter in multiple locations with some sort of fastener that will fail if I mow the grass so that I don't rip the whole bumper off. I guess 3M tape would fail in that case... Obviously the rods in front attached to the bumper beam and probably onto a piece of boxed aluminum as a spacer at the rad support since the rad support is higher than my splitter.

That's why I am using 3M tape that way WHEN i go flaying and cussing off the track it wont destroy the spoiler just the splitter. Its not if your going to crash its when!

Only thing I would add would be vertical spats on the side, to help push the air around the front tires. I'm assuming you are going to take the splitter pan all the way to the K-member? For a mount, you could probably drop a bracket down from the rack bolts, and set it up with a slip-pin. The front turnbuckles would keep the blade in place, and it would be nice to be able to easily remove the blade if you wanted!

Mine goes all the way back to the K Member. I am attaching it with some custom rods I am machining out of 6061 and the brackets for the rear will come off the sides of the frame between the bumper and K Member and down to the splitter with all SS bolts and washers. The rear mounts are out of 6061 billet blocks that are machined and drilled and tapped for a real clean look. Nothing is made yet its all on paper but I do have the material sitting in my office at work.

Sounds pretty similar to the Tiger racing splitter. I had thought about doing this as well. I still might. hmm..

APR indicated to me some time ago that anything more than 4" exposed will just incur additional drag, with little or no more downforce benefit...of course, only the real engineering geeks can confirm.

I know the FR500S is 6" in front of the CDC Agressive Chin Spoiler. At least thats what Amy told me from Miller

That's true. I think Steve Poe has a FR500S maybe he could chim in or maybe Terry at Vorshlage. Ive seen some on the Pikes Peak cars and Daytona cars that are really big. I am assuming (and we know what that means) that their that big on the FR cars because of the weight.

Well I know the Boss 302S runs a 6" splitter, the FR500S, and the Boss Laguna Seca (albeit not street legal) but the race cars also have giant wings. I have also heard there are diminishing returns after 4". Im not running a gian wing and don't intend to so I dunno what would be best for my situation.

Well if you run a splitter that cars with big wings run........with no wing you will most likely be loosing rear downforce (balance).

Yeah I had thought of that. I was looking around today to see if I could find some numbers on the Steeda street wing which is what I plan to get. I couldn't find any data on the downforce it provides or anything to plan the splitter. I can't see the Boss laguna seca spoiler being any better than the steeda piece but yet they give you that big ass splitter for the car. It makes me what the engineer intentions were with the splitter or is it just for looks. I doubt its the second one. Perhaps because the boss runs staggered wheels, they were looking to provide more grip up front and so ran the splitter and a small spoiler.

I can tell you that the wing that came on the roush Trak Pak is good for 100lbs. It's actually the small apr version. The other apr wings provide more . The Gstream was good for 600lbs @120mph

Z, have you seen this one from KB? It's more money than the steeda but it looks like it might actually do something.

Kenny Brown is Paul Brown's brother. Paul made the g stream . Kenny sells Paul's wing.

yes you want to try and minimize the damage when you have an off track experience. I have a Shelby GT with a GT500 splitter and a little excursion I had last year took the splitter off and the inner fender liners.
