If you would actually read all the posts you would notice that someone called the FRPP hotline and FRPP said that is NORMAL, its called Tincanning.

Nice try, again, you make yourself look stupid:thumb:

I didn't know the engineers worked the switch boards...lol.

And for you..it's probalby tincupping...LOL

Yea especailly when it says something like tested to 2bar? I mean shit, I'd love to see what that thing would do when a turbo kicks in with 29psi.

this is hopefully a joke. as for anyone who doesnt get it. 2 bar equals a hair over 29 psi. so this was a joke. i hope. a sad sad attempt at a joke.

Just received a voicemail from FRPP; the company line is that this is "normal" and called "tincanning". They said that the 2000 Cobra R manifold did it too. I still don't like it.

absolutely it happens on the 2000 Cobra R manifold. you know why? because there is a very strong chance we will never see a 2000 Cobra R with the hood up to check it out and see if they arent blowing smoke up anyones ass.

So we've decided Im a knuckle head and screwed my own fuel line up (although I built the entire engine myself and runs fine) and its a non-related issue? Guys, let all your friends know Dale screwed it up, FRPP made an outstanding intake, no worries. Lets all go to walmart and scare little kids.......

building an engine does not make you invincible to part failure. sorry. but shit can go wrong. im not defending the intake or 19cobra93 here, but really. so what. you built an engine. does that mean you could never have installed a fuel line with a possible dry spot that could eventually give out?
shit happens. i tried blaming engine failure on a leaf one time. it turned out to be the oil pump. of course i was 11 at the time but whatever. whoops.

I'm sorry i wasn't aware that you designed the intake. You assume is shouldnt flex even tho a ford rep said it should. Hmmm.

wow. you believe a ford rep? you probably trust the dealership techs for all your installs as well dont you? i say it shouldnt flex. but thats my opinion. maybe there was a defect in a run of the manifolds. maybe there was a dozen or so bad injections. being as this is the premier s197 site on the web, its not unheard of that more than one person with an s197 could possibly have a manifold from that bad batch, if it exists of course. i didnt realise that everything a ford rep said was the troof. silly me.

Never said it did. Simply implied that I handled a full build on a mod motor with alot of moving parts yet somehow managed to screw a fuel line up, don't think so. If you had read back you would have seen that I said I beleive that my line ruptured from being rubbed underneath from all the flexing of the intake, since it split in the middle. Thanks

im not trying to say you dont know what your doing, all im trying to say is that parts fail. hence this thread. it is possible that you had a bad hose. just like you now have a bad manifold.

dont know, said that it could have been that too. The only real thing I do know is my new intake moves when under power, I had a seperate, possibly related fuel line rupture also. It sucks and FRPP says its normal and not to worry.

Yeah, well I am not buying it (the story). In all of my years of racing I haven't seen one intake move like that. Common sense would tell you that something is wrong.

Whether it will cause a significant issue down the road seems to be up for debate.

I just looked at mine sitting in it's box still and before seeing thsi video, would never in my wildest dreams thought that the plastic would expand like that. This thing seems like it is built rock solid, it totally baffles my mind and scares em that it expands.

I can't believe FRPP is claiming it is normal. I'm going to call my local shop here tomorrow who has some contacts higher up with FRPP and see if they can dig anything else up.
