Hey guys,

Tried PM'ing Jeremy, since he is who I was originally working with when I bought the pump, but says he can not receive PM's right now...?

Anyways...

I bought this pump setup from you guys: http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98794

I previously had a GT500 fuel pump setup in my car and changed out to the pump above, partially because of more power support and partially because of the intermittent gas gauge I have had since the GT500 setup. The fuel gauge sometimes would work, sometimes would not. Now, it does not work period. I get the DTE FLI Fuel Level error (or something along those lines) on the on board computer. Have not pulled specific codes because my X3 is being sent to SCT.

With the new pump, it has never worked. My gas gauge always just reads red and the error on the OBC. My car is an 05. Would that pump setup have the right sender? My shop ordered a sender and jet pump specific to my car to try and fix the issue, but they just called and said the sender they ordered is different than what is on the pump. Jeremy mentioned sometimes a wiring issue outside of the hat causes that problem but would that make sense (intermittently working with the GT500 setup, now not working at all with the new pump). I was hoping it is not the sender because the sender is costing me more than the whole pump all together. I have a feeling the sender on the pump is fine, but what is causing my gauge not to work at all?

Also, now that my car is out of the shop, how do I get the $150 core refund? Or may I possibly need parts off of that? Haha

Thanks guys

He can't receive PM's as he in the Navy and deployed; it sounds like the fuel sender was either hung on something, not put back in the tank correctly or the crossover line is not connected/seated all the way.

How long ago did you order this setup?

I would say maybe 3 months ago or so. I'm not sure what to do. The shop is wanting me to get a whole new fuel pump/hat setup because they do not feel comfortable running this pump in my car. We already had to replace the y-fitting because it exploded and for some reason they think (and I quote) that it is a "jank" setup
