Is your kit all 3" pipe Jason? It looks very similar to the one I currently have.

And that is an awesome idea using a WG for a cutout Jeremy. I will have to look into that. I am think of running a 3.5" pipe until right about where the ac compressor is. I think that transistion spot going to 3" would a great place to add the additional wg

He runs 7lbs of boost and then runs a 60mm gate that opens at 3.5psi as a cutout before his cat a few feet back from the turbine.

I am still unsure about whether or not to ditch the kit I have and go forward facing. I guess that will be something I will have to decide when I get the new turbo and see how much changing I will have to do. If I can just mod the up-pipe a little to move the turbo forward a little and then change the downpipe from the turbo to the ac compressor( I have a v-band right at the ac now) then that might be the easiest.

4" downpipe, 60mm wastegate as a cutout into a 4" glasspack muffler and 2" dump outlet. He wanted the car quiet as shit until in boost and the cutout opens.

Using the wastegate as a cut out is what i was talking about a wile back jeremy. It will only open under boost and can be controlled by a cheep boost controller. I would also use a cheep wastegate because it want hurt a thing if it never opens.

The waste gate on the downpipe wouldn't even need to flow a ton of air, just having it open up close to the turbine on the downpipe would drop pressure pretty easily while allowing most of the flow to still go through the regular exhaust.

The more and more we talk about it, I think it would be a sweet idea. I wouldn't worry about blowing that thing open with a sonic boom. Hell my old little 38 would have been pretty good for it most likely except the stupid mounting scheme. I like this Precision 46mm v-band mounting much better.

Edit: I'm pretty sure its all 3" Josh.

Jeremy, what do you think about me using my Godspeed 44mm gate for the cutout and then get a good wg for the primary? I see a lot of the ebay cheapo 60mm gates only have a 44mm outlet on them anyway.

I have always had a hell of a time getting this godspeed wg to seal on my flange anyway. The flange Paul used was for the 46mm PTE wg so I would buy one of those for my primary.

Sure why not. But, what is the source of the bad seal, kit flange, gate fire ring, clamp etc?

A thing to note, almost all vband wastgates that I have seen have a smaller exit size. Just like a bigger downpipe for a little bit, the expanding bowl in the exhaust chamber around the valve in the waste gate allows it to flow with a smaller exit. The size of a waste gate is simply the valve diameter.
