RPM Mustang Progress
Getting the Team RPM / High Noon Mustang prepped to win on the road courses
Hi Guys and Gals
Just want to share some pics of the progress being made to our RPM Mustang by the magic workers at Brads Custom Auto.
The torque arm from the Griggs Racing GR40SS kit to be installed.
Done. But, will the MAC prochamber clear.....?
Some components of the Griggs Racing GR40SS rear suspension to be installed.
Done. Including a Griggs severe duty panhard. And they even cleaned up some of that nice rusty stuff on the rear end.
Not an inch to spare, but the exhaust fit!
Look at these control arms !!!
It's no GR40TT sla front end, but the stock arms are pretty solid and these fix things up pretty nicely.
Griggs Racing GR40SS front coilovers installed and sway bar hooked back up. Now it needs some brakes.
Wilwood 13" rotors with floating calipers installed out back. We worked closely with Wilwood on this set-up, they built this specifically for our solid axle Mustangs, as they've found no advantages to big brakes on the backs of our cars while they utilize c-clip set-ups. Even if the axles shifts a little in hard cornering, we'll still have great use of the rear brakes.
Up front are the big 14" rotors with 6 pistons.
19"x9.5" Enkei GTC01 racing wheels all around, wrapped in 285/35/19 Hankook V12 Evo's should keep things planted.
We ran a design contest for the graphics on the car for next week's 2010 Fireball Run, and in the typically RPM Contest "Murphy's Law" fashion - it was a tie between two completely different concepts !!! How do you take to cool and unique designs and represent the ideas of each winner? Well, this was our solution.
It has received mixed reviews, but at the end of the day I love it because it was made by two of our RPM members and does a decent job of showcasing our generous sponsors.
I would really appreciate you guy's and gal's support throughout this event. We will really need your help in the challenges and navigating through many of your towns and cities.
Yes, the Fireball has cool cars and some track events - but, it's about getting the message out about these missing kids that this is all about. We have been contacted and given some amazing encouragement from the family of Lindsey Baum, our team's missing child. That's when it gets very REAL !!! My heart just breaks for them and Lindsey, and we just hope we can play some small part in her recovery effort.
