I was curious why people go with the 90mm Lightning MAF over the 95mm C&L MAF (Comes with racer kit) when using the C&L 95mm Intake..?

Also, how big is the Saleen Extreme inlet tube?

The C&L still uses the slot in sensor from ford and that sensor pegs in higher horsepower applications without a MAFIA or some other similar device. The ford 90mm lightning meter is good for more horsepower roughly 550hp with just some rewiring to make it work with the new sensors electronics.

No answers on the MAF question, but here's a pic of the Saleen Extreme intake elbow...

It kind of looks like the stocker, but it is a larger ID.

The Saleen Extreme inlet tube is 98mm. I read up a little on the MAF, but still don't quite get it. Can't you just get a new MAF Meter to go with the C&L 95mm MAF instead? Like couldn't I just use the lightning MAF meter with the C&L MAF?

You can but it would require fabrication to make the Lightning sensor fit in the C&L MAF. The sensors have a different footprint. If your are concerned with maxing out the Lightning MAF there is always the SCT Big Air 2400.

Why wouldn't you just use the lightning MAF sensor+housing? mates up to the C&L racer just dandy....

I had the C&L on mine with the racer kit.. the shop swore it would work but the car ran like crap so I took it to another shop and was told the stock sensor couldnt handle the C&L MAF (to much air) so they had a hard time tuning the car.. I went with the SCT big Mouth Maf... car hasnt ran better.

Montreal Qc,
I'm running the C&L Racer inlet tube with the Lightning MAF and the JDM airbox.

I got the whole JDM Stage II kit from them.

Yes I could have saved a few dollars by buying a part here and there but I support those who support me.

I'm running their tunes and will one day be running their engine also.

I have their parts for that on my N/A engine (plus an external IAT sensor) for a little bit - but they will eventually head over to the Saleen setup when the N/A engine is no longer N/A...

Pete, I though you had a Teskid block you were going to build up. Did you change your mind or are you going to have JDM build it up for you?

I still have the Teksid and yes I will be getting JDM to build it up for me.

I may bring it down with me when I go in a couple of weeks.
